Welcome to NGB and our Metaphor ReFantazio walkthrough for the Kriegante Castle area. Kriegante Castle is the final dungeon of the Martira, which you’ll come to while working on the Old Castle Town Kidnapper quest. In this guide, we’ll cover everything you need to know about Kriegante Castle, from the enemies found there to the items you can loot and how to navigate through it in pursuit of the kidnapper.

Kriegante Castle Walkthrough

Rotting Waterway (1st Time)

After descending through the well, you end up in the Rotting Waterway. Follow the linear path until a cutscene trigger, during which we’ll gain a new party member and the Theif Archetype. After it concludes, you’ll need to deal with a trio of Hellhound Diabundo. After defeating them, a cutscene will trigger where you’ll take the children back to the town, increasing your Popularity Rank.

When you return to the Rotting Waterway, follow that path until you reach the platform Morris used to make his escape. Look to the right of it to spot another one with a switch in front of it. Flip the switch to lower it, allowing you to proceed.

Follow the path to reach the other side of the platform Morris used to find another switch. Flip it to lower the platform, and then continue heading north. You’ll want to work your way to the northern part of the Rotting Waterway to reach the next area. You’ll also find a Magla Hollow just before that.

Old Waterway

A cutscene will trigger in the Old Waterway, where we’ll run into Morris. He’ll then summon the creature to hold us off while he runs away. You’ll need to sneak past it before you can continue chasing Morring.

After doing so, proceed north through the area to catch him again. Like before, he’ll summon the monster you’ll need to sneak past once again. After doing that, you’ll be able to proceed to the next area.

Old Reservoir

In the Old Reservoir, you’ll share some more words with Morris before he scampers off like the rat that he is. In order to proceed, you’ll need to lower six floodgates to lower the water level. There will be two near your starting location that you’ll want to flip on the east and west sides.

Following the eastern path, you’ll want to take the stairs up and follow the path around to reach the next switch. Flip it, then backtrack down the steps. The next one will be under the walkway from which you just came. You’ll need to flip it last; it lowers the floodgate that you’ll need to traverse the walkway.

Return to the starting area, then head west over the other floodgate. Head up the stairs there, then follow the walkway around. You’ll find the remaining two floodgates when you go down the stairs on the other side. Flip the switches next to them, causing the floodgates to lower and the water to drain out of the room.

After the water drains, drop down the ladder behind you and cross the bottom of the reservoir. Climb up the ladder on the north side to reach the Magla Hollow. Save there, then head north to arrive in a room with two bridges. Go to the east side of the room and locate a pile of wood. Crawl under them, heading east to trigger a cutscene where the creature appears. You’ll then need to run away from it before it catches you. A cutscene will trigger at the end of the path, bringing you to the next area.

Underground Passage

Once in the Underground Passage, head west a bit to come across a Magla Hollow. Make sure to stop in and save. Then, continue heading west to catch Morris for a cutscene.

Sinners’ Dungeon

After a couple of cutscenes and a fight against some wolves, you’ll be tasked with liberating your party members from their cells. Start with Heismay, then Hulkenberg saving Strohl for last. Each time you release an ally, you’ll have to deal with a monster in the cage next to them. After they have all been freed, exit the dungeon on the west side. Make sure to stop by Klinger’s cell first to inspect the green orb for an event.

Underground Passage

Back in the Underground Passage, you might want to swing back by the Magla Hollow to save, then pursue Morris west through the doors just past the trap door. This will trigger a cutscene. When it ends, you can interact with a couple of things in the room, indicated by a green orb. Afterward, head through the western door to trigger a cutscene leading to the boss fight!

Boss Fight – Homo Jaluzo

Jaluzo is a Level 30 Human with a variety of attacks. It can attack the whole party while dropping its defense and inflict a daze by staring at a party member. Pay special attention to when it starts. You’ll want to guard for the next turn if it stares at the whole party. If it stares at a single party member, guard with them.

After some time passes, Gallica will mention attacking its eyes. You’ll want to use piercing damage as it is their weakness. Once the eyes are damaged, it’s more likely to miss and skip out on an action. After a turn, the eyes will start to regenerate. Joanna will heal the body moderately when its health gets low and restore both eyes.

After you manage to defeat the Human, a cutscene will trigger. You’ll then have a choice to make, resulting in the Apprehend the Real Kidnapper quest being completed.
