Character Overview
Eiselin Burchelli Meijal Hulkenberg, once a knight of the Roussainte tribe and former member of the Kingsguard, stood loyally beside the prince. Even at a young age, she excelled with an array of weapons, earning a place in the prince’s personal guard. However, when the prince was attacked, she couldn’t save him. Bearing the weight of her failure, she began to wander, haunted by the memory of that day. With Hulkenberg, you’ll gain the Knight Archetype! Rank Hulkenberg’s bond up to gain new abilities for the Knight Archetype.

- Knight Archetype – The party can now study the Knight.
- Rank 2
- Knight Enlightenment – Reduces the MAG cost of studying the Knight Lineage
- Guard Duty – Hulkenberg may defend the protagonist from an attack on his weakness
- Rank 3
- Knight Archetype: Adept – The party can now study the Magic Knight.
- Rank 4
- Scion’s Skill – Increases skill inheritance slot for the Knight Lineage to 2.
- Rank 5
- Knight Veneration – Significantly reduces the MAG cost of studying the Knight Lineage.
- Battle Aura – While in reserve, the amount of experience Hulkenberg gains increases.
- Rank 6
- Scion’s Merit – Increases skill inheritance slots for the Knight Lineage to 3.
- Battle Hypnosis – While in reserve, Hulkenberg will gain experience at the normal rate.
- Rank 7
- The party can now study the Paladin and Dark Knight.
- Rank 8
- Scion’s Essence – Increases skill inheritance slots for the Knight Lineage to 4.
- Special Guard Duty – High probability for Hulkenberg to defend the protagonist from an attack on his weakness.
- Grand Fantasy – Hulkeberg is ready to acquire a new Heroic Embodiment.
Hulkenberg Bond Ranks
Rank 1
Hulkenberg’s Rank 1 bond will be unlocked automatically during the main story on 06/11. Once you’ve unlocked Rank 1, you can study the Knight Archetype at Akademeia.
Rank 2
To raise Hulkenberg’s bond to Rank 2, you’ll first need to complete the Necromancer Takedown and Thwart Zorba’s Plan quests. Once you’ve done that, seek her out in the Hushed Honeybee In during the afternoon. Speak with her and choose either option, then follow that with “I’d like that.” This will trigger a cutscene during which you’ll be asked questions to gain some MAG. The list below will have the questions and the best answer to receive the maximum amount of MAG.

Your next conversation with Hulkenberg will be available after reaching out to Martira. Speak with her in the town, and you’ll get a prompt to check in with her the next time you hit the road. Doing so will allow you to do some training with Hulkenberg via cutscene, during which you’ll be asked questions to gain some MAG. The list below will have the questions and the best answer to receive the maximum amount of MAG.

The Rank 4 bonding event won’t take place until after you clear Kriegante Castle. Speak with Hulkenberg about continuing her training regiment. She’ll mention that the sword was broken in the last round of training and suggest they go get some new ones in Grand Trad. While there, a cutscene will trigger.

Following the events of the Rank 4 bonding event, Hulkenberg will have things to ponder. Speak with her after time has passed (while traveling on the Gauntlet Runner at night), offering to listen to her concerns. This time, the questions don’t matter as they reward little to no MAG.

After a few more days pass, Gallica will let you know that Hulkenberg wants to talk (again, we were traveling on the Gauntlet Runner). While speaking with her, she will ask if you’d mind discussing some things with her. The main thing is that she has decided to challenge her old friend to a duel!

To start Hulkenberg’s Rank 7 bonding event, you’ll need to raise your Wisdom level to Rank 4. Once you’ve done that, speak with her, choosing “I doubt he’d fight fair” and then “I don’t mind” to trigger a cutscene where Hulkenberg will thrown down the gauntlet.

After some more time passes, you’ll be able to check in with Hulkenberg for her final bond event. For us, this happened when traveling to a dungeon on the Gauntlet Runner. While speaking with her, she’ll want to report something concerning the aftermath of her duel and will ask if you have some time to listen. Choose the “Of course.” option to get things underway.
- For the time being, the chaos in the capital should be still.
- But it’s not over yet. (2)
- Unless His Royal Highness the Prince…
- I’ll forge our path forward. (4)
