Welcome to NGB and our Metaphor ReFantazio walkthrough on the Giant Sandworm’s Nest area. This guide will cover everything you need to know about the Giant Sandworm’s Nest. This includes the enemies you’ll face and what treasure you can find! You’ll visit the Giant Sandworm’s Nest during the Old Castle Town Kidnapper main quest.

We didn’t include a map image for the Giant Sandworm’s Nest because it’s a single area with a linear path. There also weren’t any chests to grab.

Giant Sandworm’s Nest Enemies

Due to the Sandflare happening, the enemies in this area will be stronger. Also, you will not get an extra turn for striking an enemy’s weakness.

Giant Sandworm’s Nest Walkthrough

Entrance

When you finally reach the Giant Sandworm’s Nest, you’ll be just outside at its entrance. There, you’ll be able to speak with More about visiting Akademia or speak with the Wasteland Peddler about purchasing any last-minute supplies. When you are ready, enter the nest!

Burrow

The first area of the Giant Sandworm’s Nest that you’ll come to is the Burrow. Upon entering the area, a cutscene will trigger, pointing out a tent. You’ll then want to follow the path counterclockwise around the Burrow to reach it. As you approach it, a cutscene will trigger…

Boss Fight: Heismay

… leading right into a fight with a Level 22 Heismay! He’ll start by making 3 shadow clones, then attack once. If you hit the real Heismay, then the shadow clones will disappear. He’ll then use an action on one of the next turns to resummon them. For us, he was always the 2nd one from the right. Outside of Slash attacks, Heismay will also throw sand, which lowers the party’s hit and evasion. Once you’ve dealt enough damage to him, Heismay will flee.

Look for Evidence

After the fight, the party will enter Heismay’s tent to look for evidence. Speak with your party members, then interact with the four green orbs near each tent corner. Afterward, the group will convene, and you must choose an option. Pick “There’s a lot of cloth…” then “To dampen the noise.” to devise a way to lure him out. This will then trigger a cutscene leading to the actual fight!

Boss Fight: Heismay

When you face Heismay again, he will still be Level 22, but this fight will be more aggressive. In addition to the shadow clones and sand throw from before, he’ll also start using the move Dark Sword which can inflict forget on the target, preventing them from using skills. We used the Mage, Swordmaster, and Magic Knight Archetypes for this fight. The Mage dealt damage to Heismay using magic and had inherited Medi to heal the party as needed. We then used the Swordmaster to target only one enemy at a time and the Magic Knight to tank the hits. Like the fight before, most of the time, the real Heismay was the 2nd one from the right. In the instance it wasn’t that one, we found him in the middle of the trio. After the boss goes down, a cutscene will play out, and the group will return to the Gauntlet Runner.
