How to Start the Mater Mare Bounty
To begin the Mater Mare Bounty in Avowed, interact with the bounty board in Solace Keep next to Bounty Master Sulwin.
Mater Mare Bounty Walkthrough
Kill Mater Mare
Read the bounty poster to learn that a reward will be given for killing a deadly beetle matriarch. It has established a large nest in Galawain’s Tusks and is breeding at an alarming rate. Remove this menace and stem the beetle invasion plaguing the region.
To find Mater Mare, use fire to destroy the plant blocking the hole in the wall of a cylinder building on the western side of the Writhing Ruins in Galawain’s Tusks.
Once clear, head inside to find a tunnel and slide on down to reach a cave. Follow the cave to an open area with a giant skull in the middle surrounded by dirty green water.
This is where Mater Mare will spawn. During the fight, Mater Mare will summon lots of additional beetles. Take them all out!
Collect a Trophy
After you emerge victorious from the battle, loot the Matriarch’s Horn from Mater Mare to collect your trophy.
Claim the Bounty
With the proof of your kill in hand, travel to the bounty board in Solace Keep and speak with Bounty Master Sulwin to complete the quest. As a reward, you’ll receive 1,800 gold.
