How to Start the Master of Power: Ch. 1 The Scarlet Tyrant Quest
You’ll automatically begin the Master of Power: Ch. 1 The Scarlet Tyrant in Octopath Traveler 0 after completing the Prologue. The recommended level for this quest is 6.

Backed by the might of his private army, the Scarlet Wings, the so-called “hero” Tytos rules Emberglow with an iron fist. But there are those who would resist his quest for greater and greater power…
Gather information about Tytos
To reach Emberglow from Wishvale, you’ll need to pass through the below areas. Make sure to check out our area guides for each area by clicking the link! We’ll detail the enemies, chests, and items that you can find along the way!

- Emberglow Wilds
Once in Emberglow, you’ll receive a tutorial about enlisting the town’s residents as helpers. Make your way to the tavern and speak with the bartender to officially begin the quest.
Talk to the Scarlet Wing
Now that the quest has started, head to the west side of the tavern and speak with Velnorte. Ask him one of the questions, after which he will excuse himself. This will then kick off a cutscene.
Follow Velnorte East
Following the cutscene, exit the tavern and head east through Emberglow to the Emberglow: East District. This will trigger another cutscene. It concludes with a battle against the Abnormal Ruffian.
If you have the Steal ability, you can steal a Nourishing Nut from the Abnormal Ruffian.

After you defeat the ruffian, the cutscene will resume.
Go to Velnorte’s House
Follow Velnorte into his house nearby to trigger a cutscene where you’ll be treated to some tasty stew.

Before heading downstairs, examine the glowing item behind the desk to receive Battle Music Score II.
Once you’re ready, head down the stairs to exit the building. Outside, head east to the Emberglow Laboratory: Entrance.

From the Emberglow Laboratory: Entrance, you’ll need to travel to the Emberglow Laboratory. As you approach the northern side of this area, a lengthy cutscene will trigger during which you’ll witness a meeting with Commander Tytos, Velnorte, and Jurgen. After their meeting, Velnorte will ask for your help.
Search for the servant Al
To find the servant, head down the stairs to find Al by the table next to the save point.
When you encounter him, he’ll quickly turn hostile, triggering a boss fight!
If you have the Steal ability, you can steal a Protective Earring from Al the Servant.

Tips
- Break it immediately when the purple “stand ready” aura appears, or defend before it attacks.
- Save BP for efficient shield breaking.
- Heal often!
After you defeat Al the Servant, Velnorte will ask that you remain quiet about what transpired here tonight. You’ll then be teleported back to Rinyuu and will need to decide whether or not to tell her the truth. As a reward, Rinyuu will give you a Bell Amulet.
Observe Velnorte
Return to Velnorte’s house and head inside to trigger a cutscene that will conclude the chapter.
