How to Start the Leviathan Bones Quest

To begin the Leviathan Bones side quest in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, speak with Onya, Akrah, and Garshon standing in a group outside the tent at Serenne Stable, which is in the northwestern part of the Central Hyrule Region.

How to Complete the Leviathan Bones Quest
Akrah at the Serenne Stable asked you to get a visual record of the leviathan bones. The record need not have the whole skeleton in it, so long as the skull is visible. Leviathan bones are apparently found in Eldin to the northeast, Hebra to the northwest, and Gerudo to the southwest.
Find Leviathan Bones in Eldin
The first Leviathan skeleton is a bit of a hike! To reach it, open your map and look for the outline of a skeleton to the north of the “ains” part of Eldin Mountains.

When you arrive at the Eldin Great Skeleton, snap a picture of the Leviathan Bones.

Find Leviathan Bones in Hebra
Before traveling to Hebra, you’ll need armor with the Cold Resistance effect—such as the Snowquill set—to survive the frigid temperatures.
The second Leviathan skeleton rests inside a cave at the heart of the Hebra North Summit. You’ll find the entrance southeast of the peak, just past a small pond.

To open the sealed door, climb the hill to the east until you spot a gap with a pond. Use Cryonis to create two ice pillars side by side, then continue east, climbing over a rock ledge, to find a large snowball. Roll the snowball down the slope toward your ice pillars—it will smash through the blocked entrance, granting access to the Hebra Great Skeleton.

Once inside, snap a photo of the Leviathan Bones with your Camera Rune to complete this step.

Find Leviathan Bones in Gerudo
Before traveling to Hebra, you’ll need armor with the Heat Resistance effect—such as the Desert Voe set—to survive the hot temperatures.
The last Leviathan skeleton is visible on the map west of the “Gerudo Desert” words near the Dragon’s Exile.

Be careful when in the desert as the sandstorms will wipe out the map. If you have your pointer on it, you should be able to see the beacon through the sand. Once you arrive at the Gerudo Great Skeleton, take a picture of the Leviathan Bones.

Return to the group at Serenne Stable
After you have all three pictures of the Leviathan Bones, return to the group at Serenne Stable to show them. As a reward for completing your task, you will receive 300 rupees.
