How to Start the In Vino Veritas Quest
To begin the In Vino Veritas quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, speak with Casper Rudolf by the west fast travel marker in Kuttenberg. Agree to help him figure out the secret.

Study Casper’s book on wine (optional)
When you attempt to enter the garden, Hugo Mannlicher will stop you. Convince him to let you through, then speak with Adleta Mannlicher. Convince her to give you the book, become “friends” with her, or purchase it from her.
Make an impression on Havel the tavern keeper
Next, travel to The Emperor Charles Tavern and speak with Havel inside. During the conversation, tell him the following options:
- Italy
- Vin Santo
- Ginger
Tell Casper about the results of your investigation
After getting Havel to open up about the secret, return to Casper and tell him about it.
Get hired at the vineyard
Speak with the Recruiter at the monastery north of Kuttenberg. You’ll then get the Under the Straw Hat task.
Under the Straw Hat Task
For this job, you’ll need to speak with Jerome the caretaker.
Head up to the house and speak with Administrator Jerome. Afterward, follow him as he explains your job.
Next, grab the sacks and load them on the pallet. You’ll then need to pick weeds in the field. Stop working when the bell tolls. Once it finally does, return to Jerome to collect your wages of a measly five groschen. The next day, you’ll get this task again. Once you complete the In Vino Veritas side quest, this task will end, too.
Get seedlings for Casper
With the task out of the way, wait until 23 then steal the wine seedlings on the southeastern side of the search area.
Find the monastery’s secret
Enter the center house then head to the northern side where you’ll find barrels against a wall. To the left (west), lockpick the door. At the back of the room, loot the chest to get Sulphur wicks, the secret.
Take the monastery’s secret to Casper
Return to Casper and hand over the seedlings and the secret. As a reward, you’ll receive 425 groschen. The In Vino Veritas will end.
