How to Start the Hunger and Despair Quest
The Hunger and Despair quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 will begin automatically after completing Besieged.
Hunger and Despair Walkthrough
Ask Janosh for food (optional)
Head into the kitchen and ask Janosh if he has anything to eat.
Bring Capon something to eat
Under the stairs leading up to Henry’s room, you’ll find a chest that contains some booze. Alternatively, you can speak with the stablemaster in the courtyard and ask about food. He’ll mention Boudica. Hop on her then ride to the outer bailey. Next, you’ll need to return her to the stable. Afterward, return to the stablemaster. He’ll give you some booze.
Once you have some alcohol, bring it to Capon to trigger a cutscene.
Survive the battle
First you’ll need to get the enemies off the walls and knock off the 4 ladders on the ramparts. Start with the one closest to you and work your way to the next one.
Once all ladders have been knocked down, break down the tower door and remove the enemies inside. Head upstairs and clear them from the ramparts. While you’re here, push off the two ladders. A cutscene will then trigger.
Finish what you need to do and then wait on the ramparts
Speak with Jan Zizka to learn about Katherine. Next, speak with Hans in his room. You’ll then need to head outside where you’ll find Katherine in the infirmary. Make your goodbyes to anyone else that you’d like.
When you’re ready, wait on the rampart behind the combat arena. The Hunger and Despair main quest will end and the Reckoning quest will begin.
