How to Start the Homecoming Quest
To begin the Homecoming side quest in Avowed, speak with Captain Geofri in Solace Keep of Galawain’s Tusks.
Homecoming Walkthrough
Petru, the Warden Captain, has disappeared under suspicious circumstances.
Speak to Mina
Mina can be found in the mess hall, which is just off the west side of the main hall. Speak with her for a clue on where to look.
Investigate the Abandoned Warden Tower
Head north of the Primordial Depths South Beacon in Soreena’s Mercy to reach the Northern Warden Tower. When you arrive at the tower, you’ll see it’s infested with enemies. Clear it out, then loot the Twisted Iron Key from the second room to the left of the entrance on the first floor.
This will open a cell on the fourth floor. Loot the chest to find the Ring of Greater Overseeing, a unique ring. Alternatively, when you come up the stairs to the fourth floor, you can just blow a hole in the wall to your left.
Next, read the book on the roof.
If that doesn’t update the quest, then head back downstairs and read all the documents on each floor.
Investigate the Ash Forest Outpost
Travel to the Ash Forest Outpost, which is in northwestern Ash Forest.
Find Petru
When facing the front of the building with the guards, head to the left building then climb up the ledge. Drop down and head through the broken wall into the building.
In the middle of the room, use the rubble to reach the roof. On the north side, you’ll find a section of missing wall. Drop down then sneak behind the guards to get inside. Speak with Warden Petru in his cell. He’ll want you to release him and needs you to get the jail key.
Fast travel to the Ash Forest Beacon so the guards don’t see you leave the jail (if they do, they will automatically attack you!). Make sure your Perception is 10, then speak with Liviu and select the following options:
- I spoke to Petru.
- I need your key.
- He hasn’t committed any crimes.
- [Perception 10] You’re hungry, aren’t you? Solace is running out of food, and Petru has the solution.
Once you convince her, she’ll hand over the jail key. Alternatively, you can kill the guards and loot the key from Liviu’s body.
When you have the key, return to Warden Petru and free him. As a reward, you’ll receive Ninagauth’s Gruesome Grasp. The Homecoming side quest in Avowed will then end.
