Welcome to NGB and our High Security Lockboxes guide for The Outer Worlds 2. Scattered across the colonies, these lockboxes hold powerful armor, weapons, upgrades, etc. —but cracking them open won’t be easy. In this guide, we’ll show you where to find every High Security Lockbox and what you’ll need to unlock them.

How to Open High Security Lockboxes
To open High Security Lockboxes, you must first start the A Healthy Improvement companion quest aboard the Incognito shortly after beginning the Recalling the Score main mission.
Once you’ve been introduced to the concept of the High Security Lockboxes, you will need to seek out Advanced Decryption Keys. If you need some assistance locating them, please refer to our Advanced Decryption Keys Guide.
You will use these special keys to open the High Security Lockboxes in the bay of the Incognito, granting you access to upgrades, gear, etc.
Where to Find High Security Lockboxes
Eden – Paradise Island High Security Lockboxes
Auto-Hacker 5000
This lockbox can be found in the Vox Relay on the Operations Floor near the uninitialized keycard during The Saboteur of Paradise main quest.
To open it, you will need 7 Advanced Decryption Keys.
Dead Man’s Jacket
During the Vanquishing the Vexing Vapors side quest, you can find the High Security Lockbox: Dead Man’s Jacket on a shelving unit next to where you emerge from the vent.
To open it, you will need five Advanced Decryption Keys.
Manager’s Tasking Hat
After completing the Mystifying Case of the Midnight Marauder task, you can find this High Security Lockbox in the cellar where the Protectorates were hiding!
To open it, you’ll need four Advanced Decryption Keys.
Murder’s Best Friend
This High Security Lockbox can be found inside the Raptidon Den, which is northwest of the Vox Relay Station. Once inside the cave, work your way to the area where you’ll fight the Raptidon Machriarch during the Better Than Nature companion quest.
You must use seven Advanced Decryption Keys to open it!
Native Species
This High Security Lockbox can be found along the cliff to the northwest of Westport.
To open it, you will need 5 Advanced Decryption Keys.
Remote Detonator
This High Security Lockbox can be found on a desk on the second level of a house on the northwestern side of Westport. To reach it, you’ll need to take the stairs on the left side of the outside of the building.
To open it, you will need eight Advanced Decryption Keys.
Tactical Trajectile Defense-Dome
The Advanced Decryption Key can be found in the main terminal room in the Ministry of Accuracy on Floor 1.
It will be on a table. To open it, you will need
Dorado – Golden Ridge High Security Lockboxes
A New Point of View
Head through the tram station on the western side of the Decommissioned Autonomous Extractorium, which is on the western side of Golden Ridge. Once on the tracks in the station, head south and follow the tracks, jumping over the broken sections.
At the dead end, jump onto the cliffs to your left then follow the path, fighting the creatures as you go!
After you emerge through the path to a ledge on the cliffside, take a left and continue following the path.
You’ll find yourself on another track. When it ends, jump to the left to continue heading through the mountain!
On the top of the mountain, you’ll finally reach a drop pod! To the next of this drop pod (that has two AutoDoc Compression Coils inside for the Hazard a Gas quest), you’ll find this High Security Lockbox.
To open it, you will need 4 Advanced Decryption Keys.
Bowlzerker
To find this High Security Lockbox, make your way to the tram station at the Guardian Estates on the southwestern side of Golden Ridge. When you enter the station, go in the room to the right to find the box.
This lockbox will take four Advanced Decryption Keys to open.
Menacing Mask
This High Security Lockbox can be found at the Mantisaur Nest in the area just before the pupa, which you’ll need for the Pinching the Pupa side quest!
Scrutinizer’s Eyepiece
This High Security Lockbox will be available at N-Ray Range after completing the Discrete Mathematics main quest.
To open this lockbox, you will need 6 Advanced Decryption Keys.
The Lonesome Ranger
This High Security Lockbox can be found next to a terminal during the Arbitrary Measures side quest on the western side of Golden Ridge.
To open this lockbox, you will need to use four Advanced Decryption Keys.
Praetor High Security Lockboxes
The Bullet Blender
This High Security Lockbox can be found in the enemy camp to the east of Lightning Tower – Northeast. It will be located next to the workbench.
To open this box, you will need to use 10 Advanced Decryption Keys.
Cloister High Security Lockboxes
Gunner’s Mobile Turret Suit
This High Security Lockbox can be found during the A Complication with the Computronic Cerebrum quest in the Data Gateway Station.
Merciless Master
This lockbox can be found in a room on the second level of a building on the western side of Newton.
To open it, you will need 6 Advanced Decryption Keys.
Shadow Hacker
This lockbox is given as a reward for completing the Deviations Under Duress quest. To open it, you will need 5 Advanced Decryption Keys
