How to Start the Forged of Star-Stuff Quest
To begin the Forged of Star-Stuff side quest in Avowed, loot the starmetal from the altar at the Godless Altar in the Southern Embrace of Dawnshore.
Forged of Star-Stuff Walkthrough
You found a rare piece of starmetal. With the help of a talented smith, maybe it can be worked into something useful.
Find a Starmetal Smithy
To start your search for a starmetal smithy, travel to Paradis and speak with Gweneth, the blacksmith.
She can’t work with starmetal but recommends Solace Keep.
Next, speak with Merchant Stephan in Fior mes Iverno and ask about the metal.
He’ll believe that someone in Galawain’s Tusks can work with starmetal.
When you reach Shatterscarp, travel to Thirdborn and speak with the blacksmith Kampeki.
She won’t be able to work with it and will point you to Solace Keep. If you made a bet earlier with Kai, you’ll get to cash in! As a reward for winning the bet, you’ll get 600 gold.
When able, travel to Solace Keep in Galawain’s Tusks. Once there, head past the giant statue in the main hall and go down the stairs behind it to reach the forge. Speak with Forgemaster Dela and show him the starmetal.
If you have starmetal on you (see below for the Fragment of Starmetal locations), you will then get to choose between having a sword or an arquebus (gun) made. The gun you’ll receive is the Moonstrike, a two-handed ranged unique weapon. The sword is the Meteor Blade, a one-handed unique weapon.
If you give him more starmetal, you can have him make the other weapon or upgrade the one you currently have.
Fragment of Starmetal Locations
Emerald Stair
You’ll find this Fragment of Starmetal at the Damp Burrow in the Rolling Crags.
Shatterscarp
This Fragment of Starmetal can be found near the Abandoned Mine, which is east of the Ancient Lakebed.
Galawain’s Tusks
This starmetal can be found on the west side of Ash Forest. The Revenant for the Destul Bounty will be here, too.
