How to Start the For Whom the Bridge Tolls Side Quest
To begin the For Whom the Bridge Tolls side quest, make your way to the Bridge of the Reverent and speak with Senior Warden Weintraut. Tell her you need to access the relay. She’ll then say that if you track down two traitors and bring them to her so she can deal with them, she will grant you passage across the bridge.
We had the Space Ranger perk, which convinced her to work with us.

Bring Ida Rutledge to the Bridge
First up on the traitor list is Ida Ruteledge. If her name sounds familiar, it’s because she was tied to the A Final Death for Gravity side quest.
During that quest, you’ll learn that she had planned to kill her Auntie’s Choice coworkers by leaving them trapped on a harvester platform where they would have been forced to starve to death. To accomplish this, she threw herself into the machine’s gears to jam them, causing the platform to become stuck.
During the quest, you can find her log, which documents her plan, and you can share it with the two survivors once you rescue them. You’ll also need to collect her severed arm from near the gears.
Take it back to the senior warden and present it as proof that Ida has been dealt with. If you did tell the survivors about Ida’s plan, you can mention that to the warden to earn her some goodwill in her death.
Bring Charlton Weintraut to the Bridge
The second target is none other than Senior Warden Weintraut’s cousin, Charlton. Travel to Westport, then head for the flooded section in the northwestern part of the area.
There you’ll find a house filled with lots of Auntie’s Choice products. Examine the terminal in the room and read all the messages. This will give you a unique option when speaking with Charlton.
You will need a Speech skill of 3 to convince Charlton to head to the bridge!
To find the target, you’ll need to head towards the Requisitions Mech in the gated section of the town. You can find him standing near the stairs just before the mech.
If you sided with Minister Milverstreet and completed The Brain Benders of Auntie’s Choice side quest, you will find Charlton inside Fairfield’s town hall at the information desk.
Speak with him and use your Speech skill to convince him to head to the bridge.
Head there yourself and speak with the warden. You can use the information from Charlton’s house to add more wood to the fire. Continue with the conversation to complete the quest, granting you access to the bridge.
