In the Flat Kairoser side mission of Borderlands 4, you’ll meet Sam—a true believer that Kairos is as flat as his sense of logic. He’s convinced he’s living on the edge, and no amount of roundabout reasoning will sway him… unless you can prove otherwise. To claim his promised reward, you’ll need to challenge his worldview with undeniable evidence. Just be prepared: Sam’s arguments may go in circles, but at least you’ll have a ball while you’re at it.

How to Start the Flat Kairoser Quest
To begin the Flat Kairoser side mission in Borderlands 4, speak with Skeptical Sam just northwest of Checkpoint Vermillion.
How to Complete the Flat Kairoser Quest
Sam thinks Kairos is flat. Sam thinks he’s living on the edge. Sam thinks you can’t prove Kairos is round, but if you do, he swears he’ll give you a reward. It may take a global effort to get around his circular logic, but at least you’ll have a ball in the process. TLDR: Sam is out of orbit, so there’s a pretty good chance you’ll flat-out get that reward.
Take flat Kairos
After accepting the quest, take the Flat Kairos Model.
Stomp dang globe
Jump to the orb, then slam down onto it.
Follow Sam
Next, follow Sam until he reaches a grapple point on the cliff.
Reach shrine
Use the grapple points to reach the shrine at the top of the mountain.
Reach wrecked ship
Next, travel to the Wreck of the Big Carl on the western edge of Cuspid Climb.
Collect three surveying equipment
Once you arrive at the wreck, pick up three Atmospheric Surveillance Equipment from around the area. You’ll find them on the northern and western sides.
Find suitable launch site
To find a suitable launch site, head northeast of Checkpoint Vermillion.
Place atmospheric surveyors
When you arrive, place the three atmospheric surveyors on the bones. Afterward, you’ll need to hack each piece of equipment by interacting with them.
Find first balloon
To find the first balloon, travel to the far northern side of Cuspid Climb, just southeast of The Shredded Summit. You’ll find it amongst the trees! Once you’ve located the balloon, shoot it! When it reaches the ground, you’ll need to hack the terminal to get the data.
Find next balloon
The next balloon can be found northwest of Cloudbank. It will be stuck on the tip of a building along a main road. When you see the balloon, shoot it down. Unfortunately, it will snag, so use your grapple to pull it down. Once on the ground, hack it to receive the data.
Talk to Sam
Next, travel north to the Gilded Drop in the Stoneblood Forest and speak with Sam on a tall building. Follow him around the walkway to reach a computer where you can upload the surveyor photos. Afterward, the quest will complete.
