How to Start the Dragon’s Lair Quest

To begin the Dragon’s Lair side quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance II, speak with Monk Slava in Bylany.
This is a timed quest! If you don’t deliver the letter to the Abbot straightaway, then by the time you reach the bones later in the quest, they will have been dug up already, forcing you to return to Monk Salva empty-handed.
Dragon’s Lair Walkthrough
Deliver the message to the abbot

Travel northeast to reach a church just outside Kuttenberg, then head around the back to find the Abbot speaking with Gerhart.

Talk to them to deliver the letter. The Abbot then tasks Henry with claiming the bones to be destroyed against Gerhart’s wishes. The latter would instead prefer that the bones be sent to the king.
Following the conversation, follow Gerhart to the front of the church, speaking with him once he stops. He’ll then make an offer to compensate Henry for delivering the bones to him instead of the Abbot.
Dig up the Dragon Bones
Return to Slava in Bylany, then speak with him when you arrive. Choosing the “I have a reply from the Abbot.” dialogue option, then select the other options that appear. Following the conversation, a cutscene will trigger where three armed men show up.
If you let the monk talk, he’ll answer the goon’s questions with what he knows. If Henry answers instead, you can persuade them to leave by selecting the. “We don’t know anything. Leave us alone.” option. Otherwise, it will end up in a fistfight between the two of them. Afterward, they will be on their way… for now.
Talk to Vashek

Head over to the tavern in the northern part of the village to find Vashek sitting at a table inside. Speak with him, exhausting his dialog options to learn more about the bones. You must pass a skill check or pay him for the information when you ask him where they are. He’ll then describe the route he was taken when he happened upon them.
Find the Bones According to the Description

Exit the tavern and follow the road heading southwest from Bylany to reach the woodcutter’s residence. From there, go south until you reach the stream. You’ll then want to follow along it heading west, and when it splits, follow the one going northwest. This should bring you to the location in the image below.

Dig Up the Dragon Bones
You’ll want to locate the hole in the ground to the west of the plant fossil in the giant rock. Interact with the hole to dig up the bones.

Go Back to Salva
Return to Bylany and speak with Monk Salva to catch him up to speed on the bone situation.
