How to Start the Den of Thieves Quest
To begin the Den of Thieves quest in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, speak with Azzan in the Anvil Fighters Guild about “Contract” after completing the Amelion’s Debt quest.
Den of Thieves Walkthrough
Find the Thieves’ Lair
Speak with Varel Morvayn in Morvayn’s Peacemakers about “Thieves” to learn that Newheim the Portly might have had some goods stolen.
Speak with Newheim the Portly
We found Newheim the Portly wandering around the docks in Anvil. Speak with him about “Thieves”. If you further ask him about the heirloom, he’ll tell you that it was a pewter flagon. This will begin the Newheim’s Flagon quest.
Travel to Hrota Cave
Travel to Hrota Cave just north of Anvil.
Once there, take out all the thieves inside! Near the end of the cave, you’ll find a pit with a fire pit and a table. On this table, grab Newheim’s Heirloom, the pewter flagon.
Return to Newheim the Portly
After collecting the heirloom, return to Newheim the Portly to hand it over. The Newheim’s Flagon quest will then end and you’ll receive 3 bottles of Newheim’s Special Brew.
Return to Azzan
After clearing out Hrota Cave of all the thieves and delivering the heirloom, return to Azzan to complete the Den of Thieves quest. As a reward, you’ll receive 500 gold.
