How to Start the Debt of Blood Quest
To begin the Debt of Blood side story quest in Avowed, speak with Vemas Rogera at the Abandoned Farms. This quest will only be available if you do not prevent the Steel Garrote’s attack on Fior mes Iverno by traveling to the Waterfall Cave to investigate BEFORE traveling to Naku Tedek during the Ancient Soil main story quest.
Debt of Blood Walkthrough
During the razing of Fior, the Steel Garrote killed a young sentry and looted a ring from his body. His uncle, Vemas, has sworn revenge. He wants you to kill the Steel Garrote captain who did the deed and retrieve the ring for him.
Find the Steel Garrote Captain
To find the Steel Garrote Captain, travel southeast of the Abandoned Farms to reach the Ranger Headquarters. Once there, approach Captain Carnet near the bonfire and speak with her. If you wish not to fight her, tell her the following options:
- You took a ring off a dead sentry. Last I heard, that was still theft.
- Come on. His family at least deserves something to remember him by.
- Woedica knows you won. Or is that not enough for you?
She will give you the Rogera Family Ring.
Otherwise, the conversation will turn south, and you’ll be forced to fight Captain Carnet. If it comes down to this, take her out and loot the Carnet’s Cutlass, one-handed unqiue weapon, and Rogera Family Ring from her corpse.
Return to Vemas
Once you have the ring, return to Vemas. After your conversation, the quest will complete.
