The Crack This Guy’s Back side mission in Borderlands 4 introduces you to Crack MaBacky, a local with a spine that’s seen better days. He needs your help to pop things back into place, but nothing in the Borderlands is ever simple. Expect some over-the-top antics as you lend a hand to finally help Crack feel limber again.

How to Start the Crack This Guy’s Back Quest
To begin the Crack This Guy’s Back side mission in Borderlands 4, speak with Crack MaBacky in a building just north of the Sainted Cup.
How to Complete the Crack This Guy’s Back Quest
Shoot this guy in the… no wait, just crack his back.
Pop Back McCracky’s back
To pop his back, melee him in the foot.
Set the mood
First, you’ll need to light the four sets of candles in the room by meleeing them. Next, exit the building and head along the left side of the house. Drop down to the trash pile below and grab the canister.
Carry it to the machine in the back corner of the house.
Once it has been deposited, press the button to activate the machine.
Pop McCracky’s back again
Once again, melee his feet to crack his back. Melee it once more when he requests.
Reach high ground
Exit his house and ride the air flow in front of you to a grapple point.
From there, make your way to the objective.
REALLY pop McCracky’s back
From the ledge, slam down through the roof onto McCracky’s back. The mission will then complete.
