How to Start the Cabin Fever Quest
To begin the Cabin Fever side quest in Avowed, speak with Dehengen at Claviger’s Landing in Dawnshore
Cabin Fever Walkthrough
A band of xaurips chased Dehengen, a local settler, out of her home. She asked you to drive them away so that she can return. Curiously, she expressed a desire to consult a Watcher about the problem, which suggests that she believes there may be a supernatural element to the problem.
Find Dehengen’s Cabin
Travel northwest of Claviger’s Landing and pass through the Fractured Shore to reach Dehengen’s Cottage.
Defeat the Xaurips in Dehengen’s Cabin
To enter the house, unlock the front door using the key she gave you. Alternatively, you can destroy some boxes blocking a hole in the back of the cabin to sneak in.
Investigate the Cabin
After defeating all the enemies inside, interact with her journal next to the bed to read it.
In doing so, you’ll learn about some dreams she’s been having. In the house’s main room where the enemies were, interact with the crude wall painting.
This will trigger a quick dialog event with your companion. Before leaving, loot the chest near the table in the main room.
Ask Dehengen About Your Findings
Once you’re ready, return to Dehengen in Claviger’s Landing and ask her about your findings. She’ll then tell you that she has half a soul and will ask for your advice on what to do. You can say that it’s up to her, recommend she leave, or spend time with the creature. If she spends time with the creature, you’ll receive the Vindictive Band, which allows critical hits to deal poison damage.
After you’ve advised her, the quest will complete!
