Summoner Sub-Scenario
How to Start the Summoner Sub-Scenario
You must progress through the story in Chapter 2 until Agnes enters the beauty contest. Once it concludes, stop by the Armory at the Florem City Entrance. The Armory Clerk will request the party to assist in the search for two girls who went off in search of some hairpins at a nearby garden.

Summoner Sub-Scenario Guide
Exit Folrem and head west to the city until you cross a bridge. You’ll then want to head north along the river, following it to the flower patch. When you progress far enough, an event will trigger where Ringabel comes to the aid of the sisters, leading to a fight against a group of six Alraune. They are weak to fire and don’t have much health, so you should be able to make quick work of them.

Once they all go down, another cutscene will trigger with the girls, where they will refuse to head back without their hairpins, before running off. Follow them west and enter the Florem Gardens.

Travel to the Florem Gardens
Inside the gardens, the party will run into the sisters again. They will say they need a Florie to make their hairpins, then walk off again.
When you gain control of the party, you’ll be in the South area. Chase after the girls while avoiding the blue patches of flowers, as they will release spores which, in turn, inflict silence on the party. The path leading to the next area is in the northwestern section of the South area.
Along the way, you’ll find three chests containing the following: 500 pg, a Hi-Potion, and an X-Potion. Two paths lead to the Central area of the Florem Gardens. Feel free to take either one.

In the Central area, you’ll want to traverse both paths to collect all three chests containing: a Tomahawk, an Ether, and 1000 pg. You can ignore the blue chest for now, as we don’t have a way to open it quite yet. Just like the previous area, you’ll need to travel to the northwestern corner of the Central area to find the path to head deeper into the gardens.

The final area of the Central Gardens before the boss is the Interior area. There will be three chests here that you can loot. You can find them in the southwestern, central, and southeastern parts of the area. From those chests, you’ll receive the following: a Remedy, a Turbo Ether, and a Tengu Yawn.
To reach the girls, you’ll want to head to the northcentral part of the Interior. You’ll find a man in red there just before the path leading to the boss. Make sure to use him to save and heal up before heading after the girls.

Boss Fight: Summoner Mephilia

Upon entering the next area, a cutscene will trigger in which the party finally catches up with the girls. The reunion is short, however, when Summoner Mephilia shows up. After some monologuing, the fight will begin!
Mephilla will have 9,999 HP and attach using summons. She will summon two Legion soldiers to fight with her, and occasionally casts Girtabulu, which can hit the whole part with earth damage. The boss will also use her rod to launch basic attacks as filler.
Once she goes down, you’ll receive the Summoner Asterisk, unlocking the Summoner job and triggering an event. Once it ends, the party will be back in Florem, and the sub-scenario will be completed.
Ranger Sub-Scenario
How to start the Ranger Sub-Scenario
You must progress through the story in Chapter 2 until Agnes enters the beauty contest. Once it concludes, head to Florem Plaza and speak to the blonde girl on the path leading to the Matriarch’s house. She’ll mention that she needs to purchase some petalhue to dye her hair so that she won’t fall behind on the latest trends.

Ranger Sub-Scenario Guide
Travel to the Florem City Entrance and speak with the girl near the entrance/exit with the blue/teal hair. This will trigger an event where she announces herself as a Traveling Merchant selling petalhue for one million pg.

After it concludes, return to the blonde girl and speak with her to see that she has now dyed her hair. Not missing a beat, she sets off to purchase a hairpin now to keep up with the trend, causing Ringabel to launch an investigation into what’s going on.
Head back to the Florem City Entrance and stop by the Trader Shop to speak with the Trader Clerk. She’ll inform the party of the rumor that the petalhue eats the soul of those who use it. The clerk will also mention that the Traveling Merchant seems to come from the east. With that tidbit of knowledge, exit the town to the world map.
On the world map, head east, crossing two bridges. After passing the second bridge, go north along the river. When you reach the patch of colorful flowers, start going east through the forested area. Once you get far enough, an event will trigger where the party catches up with the Traveling Merchant.
After Ringabel puts on the charm to learn what’s going on, you’ll be attacked by a pair of Legion soldiers. Defeat them and press on, heading east to reach a giant tree. Interact with it to enter the Twisted Treetop.

Twiseted Treetop Boss Fight: Ranger Artemia
Upon reaching the Twisted Treetop, an event will trigger where you’ll be introduced to Ranger Artemia. After it concludes, you’ll be thrown into battle with the Ranger, accompanied by two Legion soldiers.
Artemia will have 15,000 HP and is weak to fire. She had two main attacks that she used—targeting, which deals moderate damage to a single party member using her bow. The other is called Multiburst, where she hits the entire party with a burst of arrows. You’ll want to begin by dealing with both of the soldiers first, before focusing on the Ranger. One of the soldiers can inflict silence on a party member, which can make the fight a bit more of a pain if you aren’t prepared for it.
If you use the steal ability on Ranger Artemia, you have a chance to steal her Artisan Gloves, which raise the dexterity of whoever you equip them on.
We approached the fight by quickly eliminating the two soldiers and then focusing on the boss. We used classes with access to fire spell/skills to deal extra damage to Artemia while having a White Mage with Black Mage skills to support and deal damage as needed. Our primary form of damage was using a Spell Fencer who would cast Fire/Fira on their sword and then hammer away at the boss.
Once Ranger Artemia is defeated, you’ll receive the Ranger Asterisk, unlocking the Ranger job. Following the fight, you’ll return to Florem to inform the Trader Clerk about the dye. She’ll work to spread the word in the hopes that this helps things calm down. This will complete the sub-scenario.
Valkyrie Sub-Scenario
How to Start the Valkyrie Sub-Scenario
After you’ve gotten both the Summoner and Ranger Asterisks, head into Florem from the world map to trigger an event where a girl runs into Tiz. This will cause her to drop a note that Ringabel picks up and reads. This alerts the party to an impending attack. The party agrees to chase after her.
Valkyrie Sub-Scenario Guide
Exit Florem to the world map and then head east over two bridges. After passing the 2nd bridge, follow the river north until you reach the patch of colorful flowers. From there, make your way east. When you reach the large body of water, head north, passing it on the left. Approach a grouping of trees in the corner where the bright blue and the dark, nasty water meet. Interact with the prompt there to enter the Witherwood.

Head Through Witherwood
Arriving in the Witherwood, you’ll start in the South area. Before heading to the next area, you’ll want to grab the three chests in this area. They can be found in the northwestern, northeastern, and eastern parts of the area. You will receive a Phoenix Down, 500 pg, and a Remedy from them.
When you’re ready, head to the northern part of the area, which contains two paths leading to the next area: one on the northwest side and the other on the northeast side. You’ll want to take the northeastern path first. This will lead to a dead-end area with a chest containing the Sleep Blade. Grab that, then head through the northwestern path in the South area.

The next section of the Witherwood is the Central area. It contains three chests with an Aoelian Bow, Teleport Stone, and 1,000 pg. If you start in the southeastern corner and head diagonally to the northwestern corner, you’ll easily spot them. To reach the next area, head to the northeastern part of the Central area to find the path.

Now you should be in the Witherwood Interior area. Work your way down to the southeastern corner to find a path leading up to a man in red. Along the way, you’ll come across four chests. Three of which you can loot now, the fourth is a blue chest that we lack the means to unlock. You’ll find a Hi-Potion, an Ether, and an X-Potion in them.
Stop by the man in red to save and heal up (for 1,000 pg), then keep heading north to reach the Northern Hidden Village. Approach the group of three girls leading to an event which ends with a boss battle!

Hidden Village Boss Fight: Valkyrie Einheria
Einheria has 20,000 HP and no weakness. She has three skills you’ll need to deal with. The first is Crescent Moon, which is a spear attack that hits the whole party. The next is Jump, which is a two-turn attack where she’ll jump into the air after using it and jump down, impaling a single party member with her spear for high damage. The last is Spirit Barrier, which negates damage while losing MP equal to 10% of the damage you deal to her.
For this fight, we chose to hit Einheria with magic spells due to her low magic defense. We set up two of our party members to have Black and Time mage skills as their Job Command, with one being a White Mage with the Black Mage as their job command. We also had a character set up as the Knight to help take hits for the others.
Once Valkyrie Einheria goes down, you’ll be rewarded with the Valkyrie Asterisk, unlocking the Valkyrie job. You’ll still be in the Hidden Village, so you’ll need to use a Teleport Stone to return to the entrance of the dungeon or make the trek back on foot if you don’t have one.
Red Mage Sub-Scenario
How to Start the Red Mage Sub-Scenario
To begin this sub-scenario, you’ll need to head to Florem City Entrance at night and locate a different man dressed in red near the Magics shop. Speak with him to witness quite the event.
After Dandy DeRosa walks off, head to the inn and stay the night, where Ringabel tries to figure out what techniques the stranger was talking about.

Red Mage Sub-Scenario Guide
Wait for darkness to fall once again, then enter Florem and head to the Plaza. Speak with the red-haired girl near the path leading to the Matriarch’s house. After that conversation, head towards the stage to trigger an event with Dandy DeRosa.

Once this event concludes and you regain control of the party, you’ll need to wait for it to get dark again. Enter Florem when it does and make your way back to the Plaza to find Dandy in the same spot as the night before. Approach him to trigger yet another event where Ringabel is hell bent on seeing the technique that DeRosa spoke of. When it concludes, you’ll be thrown into a boss fight!
Boss Fight: Red Mage Fiore DeRosa
For this fight, you’ll be facing Red Mage Fiore DeRosa. He has 20,000 HP and has no weakness. There are a couple of things you’ll need to watch for this fight. The first being his Captivating Cologne attack. It will inflict charm on the targeted party member, causing them to attack the rest of the party. He will use this consistently throughout the fight, and Edea will start the battle charmed. You can use a Remedy item to dispel it or the Esuna White Mage spell. Fiore also liked to cast Thundara on the whole party, dealing some decent damage.
When his health gets low, he will also start casting Cura on himself. DeRosa uses a sword for his basic attack, which he will fill in between his skills. The Red Mage also has the passive ability Revenge, which will reward him with one additional BP when it triggers. This will happen naturally as you attack him.
Our strategy for this fight was to hit him with physical attacks, as he has a physical defense of only 30. While doing that, we had a White Mage to heal and remove status afflictions as needed. Our party was comprised of a Knight, Ranger, Valkyrie, and White Mage. Once Fiore DeRosa falls, you’ll receive the Red Mage Asterisk that unlocks the Red Mage job, which will complete the sub-scenario.
