How to Start the Books Overdue Quest
To begin the Books Overdue quest in Octopath Traveler 0, speak with Mercedes the Librarian in the library at Atlasdam Palace Gate after completing the Bestower of Fame: Ch. 2 Sacred Ashes quest.
Books Overdue Walkthrough
Three books belonging to the Atlasdam library are overdue. The librarian, Mercedes, wants them returned and asks you to track them down.
Gather the overdue books
Healing Hot Springs
The Healing Hot Springs book is located in Berecain of the Highlands Region. When you arrive, use the Entreat Path Action on the Hot Springs Entusiast, who can be found standing just west of the save point.
The King and the Golden Dust
To find The King and the Golden Dust book, travel to Sufrataljah in the Sunlands Region. Once there, use the Purchase Path Action on the Kindly Millionaire, who can be found standing outside the general goods store.
Adrift in the Vast River
For the Adrift in the Vast River book, travel to Donescu in the Riverlands Region and speak with the man in the southeastern house.
He’ll tell you that his book was stolen by a lizardman nesting near the Misty Falls. In search of the stolen book, travel east of Donescu to the Misty Falls.
Loot the item on the ground along the southeastern path to find the Adrift in the Vast River book.
Deliver the overdue books
After tracking down all three books, return to Mercedes and deliver them. As a reward, you will receive 16,000 leaves and the Librarian’s Amulet. The quest will then complete.
