How to Start the Battle Scars Companion Quest
You’ll automatically begin the Battle Scars companion quest in Avowed after arriving in Emerald Stair.
Battle Scars Walkthrough
Kai’s searching for closure after the passing of Tama, his old friend and mentor.
Search Tama’s Cabin in Emerald Stair
Tama’s Cabin can be found between the Grim Wetlands and The Wildwoods just southeast of the Plateau Junction Beacon.
Enter the house and grab the Whale Carving on the nightstand in the bedroom.
Continue the Adventure
After your heart-to-heart with Kai, you’ll need to continue your adventure. You’ll receive your next objective after reaching Shatterscarp.
Find Tama’s Badge in Shatterscarp
Travel south of Shark’s Teeth where you’ll be attacked by several waves of skeletal enemies. Once they’ve been defeated, head under the makeshift wooden bridge to find a skeleton with Tama’s Badge and the Sands’ Shroud.
Loot the badge to trigger another conversation with Kai.
Visit Tama’s Memorial with Kai
Travel east of Thirdborn to Sailor’s Rest and interact with the pillar in the middle closest to the ocean.
After your conversation, the Battle Scars quest will complete.
