How to Start the An Encounter with Tressa Quest
To begin the An Encounter with Tressa quest in Octopath Traveler 0, speak with Olneo the Merchant on the eastern side of Rippletide in the Coastlands Region.
An Encounter with Tressa Walkthrough
Tressa, the daughter of a Rippletide merchant, is about to make a delivery for her father who has strained his back. You decide to join her bodyguard as she prepares to make her way to Theatropolis.
Speak to the busy shopkeeper
Next, travel to Theatropolis. Just west of the eastern exit, you will find a man wearing a green coat. Speak with him to witness the exchange.

Now head just west of the inn and speak with the man with an orange bubble above his head to witness another event.

Once it concludes, return to the potato salad guy! Unfortunately, the hooded guy will show up and trigger a fight.

Head to Colzione Family Provisioners
After you take them down, return to Rippletide and enter the eastern house to trigger a cutscene. When it finishes, the quest will complete, and you’ll receive the Tressalad Recipe. Tressa will also become a companion and can become a resident of Wishvale!
She’s a merchant with a rather unorthodox fighting style. She uses a polearm and bow. Her battle skills consist of the following:
- Collect – Collect leaves from a foe
- Tradewinds – Unleash a wind attack on a foe
