How to Start the An Encounter with H’aanit Quest
To begin the An Encounter with H’aanit quest in Octopath Traveler 0, speak with the man inside the tavern at Victors Hollow after completing the Bestower of Wealth: Ch. 1 The Have-Not quest.
An Encounter with H’aanit Walkthrough
The hunter H’aanit loves nothing more than to hunt big game with her partner Linde, and Linde alone. But her master asks you to accompany her to defeat a ferocious monster so that she may learn a valuable lesson.
Search for H’aanit
To find H’aanit, exit Victors Hollow and pass through Victors Hollow Trail to reach the Great Tree’s Tears. Once you arrive at the Great Tree’s Tears, make your way to the southeastern corner to trigger a cutscene followed by a fight.

Chase the ivory shadow
After the fight, head north to the central part of the eastern side of the area where another cutscene will trigger. This time, you will face the Ivory Shadow.

Once you defeat this enemy, H’aanit will become your companion and a resident of Wishvale!
H’aanit is a hunter whose skill with the bow is second to none. She uses the Bow and Axe as weapons. In addition, she has the following battle skills:
- Rain of Arrows – Unleashes 5 to 8 bow attacks on random foes
- Summon Linde – Linde performs Sweep (multi-target sword attack) or Charge (single-target polearm attack)
