How to Start the An Encounter with Goodwin Quest
To begin the An Encounter with Goodwin quest in Octopath Traveler 0, interact with the man lying on the ground after disembarking at Shipwreck Island in The Outer Sea.
An Encounter with Goodwin Walkthrough
On a remote isle in the middle of a sea, a starving man longs for food.
Inquire further with Goodwin
Next, use the Inquire Path Action on Goodwin to learn what dish he craves. After you receive the information, use the path action again to inquire further. Ratatouille is the dish he desires!
To acquire the Ratatouille dish for Goodwin, travel to Atlasdam in the Flatlands Region. Once there, use the Inquire Path Action on the Capable Culinarian, who can be found standing in front of the item shop, to acquire the Atlasdam Recipe Book. You can then travel to the tavern in Wishvale and use the hub to craft Ratatouille using the following ingredients:
- Onion x2
- Paprika x2
- Tomato x2
- Garlic x1
Alternatively, you can purchase the Ratatouille dish from the Capable Culinarian.
Once you have the dish, return to Goodwin on Shipwreck Island and use the Inquire Further Path Action on him to deliver the Ratatouille. During the cutscene, invite him to join your party! Goodwin will then become a new companion and resident of Wishvale.
Goodwin is a dancer who wields lightning to hinder the enemy’s actions. He uses a fan and dagger as weapons. Also, he knows the following battle skills:
- Dance of Mist – Inflict Accuracy Down and Evasion Down on a foe and force them to act last
- Storm’s Refrain – Unleash 2 lightning attacks on random foes
