How to Start the An Encounter with Esperre Quest
To begin the An Encounter with Esperre quest in Octopath Traveler 0, speak with person near the blue chest in the Sufrataljah Sands after completing the Bestower of Wealth: Ch. 2 Fool’s Gold quest.
An Encounter with Esperre Walkthrough
In the white sands of Sufrataljah dwell monsters unseen in other lands. There, you will meet a young man carrying an apothecary’s bag.
Defeat the colossal blightant
Next, travel east of Esperre to trigger a fight against the Colossal Blightant. You will be scripted to lose this fight!

Once you awake, return to where you initially fought the Colossal Blightant and take it on again! After you defeat it, a cutscene will trigger and the quest will complete. Esperre will then become your companion and a resident of Wishvale!
Esperre is an apothecary adept at curing status ailments and reviving incapacitated allies. He uses an axe and tome as weapons. In addition, he has the following battle skills:
- Recuperating Smash – Unleash an axe attack on a foe. Also restore own HP when attacking from the back row.
- Healing Touch – Restore HP and cure ailments of an ally
