How to Start the An Encounter with Cyrus Quest
To begin the An Encounter with Cyrus quest in Octopath Traveler 0, approach the southwestern part of Atlasdam Flats in the Flatlands Region after completing the Bestower of Fame: Ch. 2 Sacred Ashes quest.
An Encounter with Cyrus Walkthrough
In the Atlasdam Flats, a middle-aged man is offering a reward for anyone who can defeat the ferocious monster that’s taken the lives of many travelers.
Defeat the monster in the Atlasdam Flats
To reach the monster, continue making your way to the southwestern corner.

After defeating the foe, you’ll obtain Anchorite’s Hat.
Visit Cyrus at the Royal Academy of Atlasdam
Next, travel to The Royal Academy of Atlasdam in–you guessed it!–Atlasdam! Once in the academy, head to the eastern room on the second floor and speak with Cyrus.
Head to the Atlasdam Inn
You will then need to make your way to the inn in Atlasdam and rest.
Speak to Cyrus
Once you’re well-rested, return to Cyrus to see if he’s made any progress.
Head to the Atlasdam Flats
When you arrive in the Atlasdam Flats, approach the southwestern corner to trigger a cutscene with Cyrus. Afterwards, Cyrus will become your companion and a resident of Wishvale.
Cyrus is a scholar with mastery over fire, ice, and lightning. He learns a support skill that shows an enemy’s weak point before battle.

- Fireball – Unleash a fire attack on all foes
- Icewind – Unleash an ice attack on all foes
