To begin the An Assistant Like No Other quest in Octopath Traveler 0, speak with the woman on the second level of the inn in Atlasdam after completing the Bestower of Power: Ch. 3 Tatloch the Lady of Grace quest.
An Assistant Like No Other Walkthrough
In Atlasdam, Xerc’s assistant, Athessa, has made arrangements to allow the professor to perform his research on the gargantuan soulstone. Will her work pay off?
Retrieve the necessary materials for Xerc’s work
To retrieve the materials, travel to Atlasdam Flats. Once there, head to the southern part of the area where a cutscene will trigger with Athessa followed by a fight against three Light Elementals.

Deliver materials and letter to Xerc
When you emerge victorious, return to the second floor of the inn at Atlasdam to deliver the letter and materials to Xerc.
Save Athessa
After discovering that Athessa was taken hostage, quickly make your way back to Atlasdam Flats to save her!

Once you defeat the Immoral Scholar and his lackeys, you’ll receive 22,000 leaves and the Assistant’s Amulet as a reward. Afterwards, the side story will finish.
