Meet the Battlemages

Travel southeast of Skingrad to reach Silorn. When you arrive, speak with Thalfin then follow her. Ask everyone’s abilities then position them accordingly. Thalfin should be “up close”, Merete “keep your distance”, and Iver “keep your distance”.

Defeat the Necromancers when the battle begins.

Find Falcar

Unfortunately during the battle, Falcar will flee back into the ruins. Chase after him into the ruins of Silorn. Once inside, follow the linear path, taking out the necromancers, until the path forks.

Continue straight, avoiding the hard gate on your left unless you want some practice lockpicking. You can reach this path that contains an Ayleid Reliquary a different, easier way!

Once in the room with the bridge, take the stairs on the left up. At the top, take a left and head towards the dead end. On the right you’ll spot a path. This is the path you would have taken if you picked the hard gate above. Head down this path and press the switch behind the column to open the Ayleid Reliquary across the way.

Backtrack to the bridge room. Once you emerge in the room, take a left and walk past the Welkynd Stones. At the end, you’ll spot a path on the left.

Head through the tunnel and the path will open up to a large room. Stick to the left side and open the “Stone Door to Silorn Sedorseli”.

Follow the linear path to reach a room with some Welkynd Stones in a pot.

Head behind the right column and press the block to reveal a new path on the south side of the room.

Lockpick the gate on the northeastern side of the room if you’d like to find a shortcut for the path forward. Otherwise, head through the southern path and follow it to reach a room with water. You can find a chest in the water between the fallen column and stairs.

Be sure to grab the two Varla Stones as you head around the water to reach the northwestern path.

At the dead end, step onto the platform to reveal the path in front of you. Take a right and follow the path. Step on the ground platform in front of the gate. Head across the bridge and continue straight, going through the “Stone Door to Silorn”. Press the switch in front of you to lower the gate.

Afterward, jump straight over the railing and head across the newly opened bridge. Follow the path to the “Stone Door to Silorn Buroseli”. Open the door then head to the second room. Here you’ll find a Varla Stone Cage.

Use the switch on the column to raise it then grab the Varla Stone. Afterward, head to the next room where you’ll be greeted by Falcar. Take him out and loot his body for the Colossal Black Soul Gem and Falcar’s Key.

Deliver the Gem to Hannibal

Continue following the path towards the exit. You’re not quite in the clear and will be attacked by wraiths and a skeleton dude, so take them out!

Once cleared, head up the stairs and press the block on the wall then open the gate to the left and continue through the “Stone Door to Silorn”. From there, you’ll be able to drop down and reach the exit.

Travel to Arcane University and deliver the Colossal Black Soul Gem to Hannibal Traven. The Ambus quest will then complete.
