Above and Beyond Repair Side Quest Guide
How to Start the Above and Beyond Repair Side Quest
You’ll naturally come to this side quest while working through The Saboteur of Paradise main quest, which brings you to Fairfield’s town hall. You’ll meet both Minister Milverstreet and Acquisitions Officer Kaur there, who both have jobs for you. Choosing to help one will lock you out of helping the other. This is the quest you’ll get if you decide to help Acquisitions Officer Kaur.
Above and Beyond Repair Walkthrough
Before going about doing this quest, we’d recommend that you also work on The Saga of the Malfunctioning Mechanicals as well. This is because you’ll be going to the same places for both quests, so doing them both simultaneously will save you some time. You can start it by traveling to Westport and speaking with the guy in charge there.
Find Automech Repair Center Access Credentials
If your Engineering skill is at least level 3, you can talk your way into the Automech Repair Center without needing the access credentials.
To gain access to the Automech Repair Center, you’ll need to obtain access credentials. You can do that by traveling to the Ministry of Accuracy, northwest of Fairfield.

When you arrive, you’ll notice that the entrance is unguarded as raptidons are attacking the facility. Head inside and make your way to the larger building.

Make sure to explore while you are here! There is plenty of loot, like armor and weapons, just waiting to be swiped!
Once you’re inside the building, locate and speak with Inez (she won’t be here if you have already visited this location).
After you’re done, enter the nearby door and defeat the enemy raptidons in the room. You’ll then want to climb up the ladder near the door you came from and head to the south side of the upper level to find a terminal.

Interact with it to print your Euphoria ARC Pass.
Gain Entry to the Automech Repair Center

Travel to the Euphoria Coast Automech Repair Center, east of Fairfield, and use either the credentials or your Engineering skill to gain entry. You’ll then need to proceed to the main facility in the back of the repair center, where you’ll come across Marshal Donelson.
Speak with him, and he will gladly accept your help fixing up the repair center, sending you to Delphinia.
Obtain the Experimental Shield Gadget from Delphinia
To get the gadget she is working on, you’ll need to complete the An Aegis Against the Miasma side quest.
Sabotage the Facility
Now that you have the shield, return to Marshal Donelson in his office and speak with him to begin the Vanquishing the Vexing Vapors side quest.
During this quest, you’ll be tasked with fixing the leak so that the facility can get back up and running. This will be your chance to prevent that from happening. Enter the repair hanger, head down the ramp, and enter the vent on the left.

You’ll follow along through the vent shaft, popping up in another room at the end.

Deal with the drones in this room and then head through the doorway on the northeast side. Interact with the terminal there, choosing the following options:
- Seal Room & Vent Gas
- Access flow control systems
- Initiate Zyranium Flow Shutdown
- Override Safety Measures and Perform Shutdown
- Disregard Safety and Perform Shutdown
This will sabotage the facility, preventing them from getting it back up and running.
Return to Kaur
While speaking to Kaur, you can mention how the people living there were not bad. She will then promise that those living at the Automech Repair Center will not be harmed.
Now that the facility has been stopped, return to Kaur and give her the good news! She’ll then give you options for crossing the bridge (or bypassing it entirely), including using the forward operating base forces to assault it.
She will also suggest you head to the Skycutter and use it to disable most of the Vox’s defenses. The quest will be completed with you being rewarded with EXP, Kaur’s Kuirass armor, and a Designator Triple Barrel Shotgun. You’ll also start the Ascent in the Howling Tower side quest.
