How to Start the A Way Back to the Light Quest
To begin the A Way Back to the Light side quest in The Outer Worlds 2, travel to the Cloister Underlands via the Archive and speak with Provost Finch. She’ll ask for help resetting the bank of fuses inside the Ascension Conduit Control building to restore power to the lifts.
A Way Back to the Light Walkthrough
Unlock Lifts to the Surface
To unlock the lifts to the surface, travel to the Ascension Conduit Control building located on the southwestern corner of the Cloister Underlands. Approach the building from the north side, looking for the Galvanic Barrier.
Enter the room on the right and flip the switch to disable it.
Head through the barrier to enter the building. The controls you’re looking for can be found on the southeastern side. You’ll need to cross through the middle of the room filled with Protectorate mechs to reach it.
Advanced Decryption Key – In this room, you’ll find an Advanced Decryption Key on the lower level next to the lift on the northwestern corner of the room.
Interact with the terminal to check the lift status. From there, you’ll be able to reactivate the lifts.
Return to Provost Finch
Now that the lifts are active, return to Provost Finch. She’ll reward you with a helmet and XP.
