How to Start the A Traitor Within Quest
To begin the A Traitor Within faction mission in Borderlands 4, speak with Levaine in Carcadia. This mission became available after completing The Council Divided faction mission and during the Shadow of a Mountain main quest.
How to Complete the A Traitor Within Quest
Levaine needs your help identifying the mole among the Electi. But what if that mole doesn’t want to be found?
Collect 4 Thresher Eggs
In the Ruined Sumplands, travel southwest of the Society for Amateur Seismology Enthusiasts. When you arrive, take out the threshers and collect the eggs that drop.
Gather 3 Pangolin Spit
After collecting the thresher eggs, pangolins will spawn in. Take them out and collect the pangolins spit they drop.
Kill Order Attackers
After finding the spit, the Order will appear. Eliminate the threats!
Drop Off Food
With all the ingredients gathered, make your way to Moxxi’s and place the food on the counter next to the tip jar.
Reach Boneyard
Next, you’ll need to travel to Quisling’s Cave in Tonnage Peel. Once there, kill all the rippers then pick up the Bitter Plotter ECHO Log that dropped.
Enter Cave
When you’re ready, enter the cave and kill the Kratch inside.
Explore the Cave
Hug the right side and use the Grapple Drone to reach the high ledge.
You’ll need to continue making your way through this cave using the Grapple Drones as needed to maneuver. Eventually, you’ll cross a metal bridge then drop down into a hole with yellow and black caution stripes around the edge.
Once inside, you’ll learn the truth of the mole’s identity and will then need to defeat the Order that spawns in.
Reach Cockpit
After the fight, meet Levaine in the cockpit, which is located behind where the barrier was. In the cockpit, activate the interface by pulling the lever.
Shoot Willem’s Nodes
When the code displays, you’ll need to line up the triangles so that you shoot one bullet through them. The red triangle should be the closest one to you.
After you’ve shot all the triangles, stand on the high platform on the southeastern side of the room and shoot the red triangle.
Take Drive
Once you’ve shot all the nodes, take the drive from the main console and give it to Levaine. Afterward, the Borderlands 4 faction mission will complete.
