Dragon Quest VII Reimagined Monster Hearts Guide
Many monster hearts are available in Dragon Quest VII Reimagined, each offering unique effects that can significantly influence your combat strategy and shape how your party performs in battle, rewarding players who track them down and experiment with different bonuses.
Bodkin Archer Heart
- How to Obtain: Emberdale Region – Defeat the menacing monster, Vicious Bodkin Archer, who can be found in the Emberdale Region on the northern side of the island
- Effects: 20% more damage inflicted when amped up
Brownie Heart
- How to Obtain: Frobisher Region – Defeat the menacing monsters, Teeny Boppers, southeast of Faraday Castle
- Effects: Using ‘Focus Strength’ provides an even bigger power boost to the next attack
Bubble Slime Heart
- How to Obtain: Roamer Encampment Region – Defeat menacing monster, The Bubble and Clique, on the southeastern side of the island
- Effects: 10% chance of envenomating an enemy when attacking
Gold Golem Heart
- How to Obtain: Jam-Packed Swag Bag DLC – Once you have the DLC, head into the menu and select the “System” tab. Go down to “Claim Special Rewards” and select “Jam-Packed Swag Bag” to receive them.
- Effects: Gold coins earned from battle increased by 50%
Golem Heart
- How to Obtain: Ballymolloy Region – The Tower – Level 5 – Loot chest just north of the angel statue
- Effects: Allows the bearer to survive a killing blow with 1 HP remaining
Goon Heart
- How to Obtain: Alltrades Abbey Region – Dungeon of Descent – Underground Level 2 – Loot the southern chest
- Effects: Allows the bearer to automatically use a medicinal herb at the start of a turn if their HP is at 50% or lower
Hammerhood Heart
- How to Obtain: Ballymolloy Region – Defeat the menacing monster, Vicious Hammerhood, who can be found waiting outside the entrance to the Rainbow Mines. It’s weak to fire.
- Effects: Critical Chance +10%
Healslime Heart
- How to Obtain: L’Arca Region – Grotta del Sigillo – Level 2 – Loot from a chest
- Effects: 10 HP restored each turn
Little Devil Heart
- How to Obtain: Emberdale Region – Burnmont – Loot from a chest in Burnmont on the exterior mountain ledge reachable via the southern exit on Burnmont – Level 2
- Effects: Allows the bearer to automatically use a single phial at the start of a turn if their MP are at 50% or lower
Meowgician Heart
- How to Obtain: L’Arca Region – Defeat the menacing monster, Pet Peeves, on the northeastern side of the island.
- Effects: Critical spell chance increased by 10%
Metal Slime Heart
- How to Obtain: Jam-Packed Swag Bag DLC – Once you have the DLC, head into the menu and select the “System” tab. Go down to “Claim Special Rewards” and select “Jam-Packed Swag Bag” to receive them.
- Effects: Experience earned from battle increased by 20%
Slime Heart
- How to Obtain: Ballymolloy Region – Rainbow Mines – Underground Level 5 – Chest in northeastern corner
- Effects: Evasion Chance +10%
