How to Start the Requests from a Friend: Valentin Quest
To begin the Requests from a Friend: Valentin side quest in Code Vein II, speak with Valentin at MagMell in Magmell Island during 2187: Free Exploration Era.
After slaying the first or second main story hero, Lou will make a comment about feeling Valentin. When this occurs, a bond will form up the stairs near the stained glass in the back of MagMell. Interact with it to be sent to the 2187: Free Exploration Era.
Requests from a Friend: Valentin Walkthrough
Valentin’s Request
For this request, you will need to travel to MagMell Island: Shoreline Cavern, which can be found along the western coast, to help Valentin with his research during the 2187: Free Exploration Era.
To reach the Shoreline Cavern, travel to the MagMell Island Pier and follow the beach south. Eventually, you’ll reach a path in the rocks that will lead into the cave.
Once in the cavern, you’ll find a Temporal Rift. Interact with the archway to enter a new dimension. Listen to Valentin explain the rifts as you make your way to the door. Enter through this door to face the Slaughter Engine Goliath, a boss.
Upon emerging victorious from battle, interact with the tome floating next to a door to receive the Book of Lost Time I.
To exit the rift, touch the monument! Valentin will let you keep the tome, and you will receive the Somatic Zeal, a skill that temporarily increases strength and dexterity, and the Restorative Cure, a consumable.
Next, travel to MagMell and speak with Valentin at his desk about the tome.
Valentin’s Request 2
For Valentin’s second request, you will need to help him close the designated temporal rifts around the frontier.
Valentin’s Request: Sunken City
To find the temporal rift at the Cultist Altar north of Josee’s Outpost in the Sunken City, you must travel to the Cliffside Ruins, which is northwest of Josee’s Outpost. This is a dungeon that you will need to work your way through to reach the Plateau Overlooking City mistle.
From there, you will need to head northeast, crossing the stone bridge, to reach a cave that leads to the Cultist Altar. Once there, enter the temporal rift and face Biosis Clod.
To deal damage to this boss, attack the yellow tentacles jutting out from his back!
After the fight, interact with the tome to receive the Book of Lost Time II. You will then need to return to Valentin to discuss the tome.
Valentin’s Request: Corroded Scar
In the Corroded Scar, you can find the temporal rift in the Mine Site Northern Cave in the northernmost part of the Corroded Scar. To reach this area, head west of the mistle at the In Front of Command Room in the northern part of Pioneer Castle, taking the elevators.
Once outside, cross the long bridge then head northeast through the mountains, following the road. Along the way, you will pass through the Corroded Mine. From there, head north to reach the Mine Site Northern Cave. When you arrive, head inside the temporal rift to face the Queen of the Rift.
Upon emerging victorious, interact with the tome near a door to receive the Book of Lost Time III. Afterwards, touch the monument to receive the Ichor Rejuvenative, a consumable. With the book in hand, return to Valentin to discuss it.
Valentin’s Request: Undead Forest
To gain access to the Undead Forest in the past, you will need to first complete the Slaying the Hero Holly quest.
Once able, travel to Bureau’s Castle in the Undead Forest during the 2187: Free Exploration Era. Once there, head north and follow the road around the lake to reach the Cult’s Hidden Cave on the eastern side.
Inside, you will find the temporal rift. Proceed through the rift to face several waves of enemies.
After defeating them all, grab the Book of Lost Time IV. As a reward, you will receive the Diamond Dust skill.
Next, return to the MagMell and speak with Valentin to browse the tome with him. Afterwards, you will receive the Restorative Elixir, and the quest will complete.
