How to Start the Ahdarji’s Heirloom Quest

You’ll begin the Ahdarji’s Heirloom quest in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered by progressing through the Independent Thievery Thieves Guild quest!

Speak with S’krivva

To proceed with this quest, you’ll need to have fenced 200 gold worth of stolen goods!

Following your promotion to the Bandit rank in the Thieves Guild, you’ll now need to get your jobs from S’krivva. She is located in Bravil and can be found either at the Lonely Suitor Lodge or in her home (which you shouldn’t enter unless it’s unlocked). Make your way there and locate your new contact. Speak with her to get the job details.

This job is a special request from the widow of a former fence. A street scavenger stole the widow Ahdarji’s priceless ring. She is asking the Thieves Guild to help her get it back in exchange for a reward.

Speak with Ahdarji

Travel to Leyawiin and locate Ahdarji, who can be found wandering around the town or in her house. It’s located in the center of town on the southwest side of the pond. Speak with her and ask about the stolen ring. She’ll tell you that an Argonian named Amusei took it.

Find Out More about Amusei

To learn more about Amusei, locate Deeh the Scalawag wandering around the city. Speak with him and ask about Amusei. He’ll tell you what you want to know for 10 gold coins, or you can raise his disposition to 70. Either way, you’ll learn that Amusei was arrested for trying to swindle the countess and is currently rotting in a castle dungeon cell. Deeh will also mention that you can bribe the jailors to allow you to visit the target.

Track Down the Ring

Now that we know where to find Amusei, it’s time to get the ring back. Head to the Castle Leyawiin County Hall on the east side of town.

From there, go up the stairs and take a right at the throne room to spot the door leading to the dungeon straight ahead. Use it to enter the Castle Leyawiin Dungeon.

In the dungeon, speak with the Leyawiin Jailor and ask about Amusei. To gain access to the Argonian, you’ll need to pony up 20 gold coins. The jailor will happily take it, unlocking the door for you. Head to the cells and speak with Amusei to ask about the ring. You’ll have to give him a lockpick so he will tell you about it.

Turns out the ring belonged to the Countess of Leyawiin before it was stolen from her. Amusei tried to sell it back to the countess, but she had him locked up and kept the ring…

Gather Intel on the Ring

Looks like our new target is the Countess of Leyawiin. If you speak with the Leyawiin Jailor before leaving the dungeon and raise his disposition to at least 70, he’ll spill the beans about the recovered Caro family ring. The Countess is very happy to have the ring back and hasn’t taken it off for days. He’ll say that if you want the whole story, speak with Hildara. The jailor will even share the Countess’ schedule:

  • Mornings, she is at the town chapel
  • Hosts an evening meal in the castle at 8 pm
  • She retires sometime after 11 pm
  • Countess travels to Choorol on the ides of every month
  • Don’t try to find her between the 15th and 17th

Next up, you’ll want to track down Hildara, who can be found escorting the countess. Speak with her and raise her disposition to at least 70, then ask about the ring. She’ll tell you that the countess only takes the ring off at night while she is in the bath and places it in her jewelry box.

STEAL THE RING

With this knowledge, the best time to steal the ring back is at night, when it’s in the jewelry box. Travel to Leyawiin Castle and make your way to the throne room. To the right of the throne, you’ll spot a door leading to the Castle Leyawiin Basement. Wait until about 1 am, then head through this door.

Follow the hallway to the end, and you’ll spot a hidden door on the back wall. To the left of the door is a barrel with a secret lever inside. Flip the lever to open the door, then head through.

Continue following the path until you reach the door to the Lords’ Manor Private Quarters. In the private quarters, you’ll need to flip another lever on the wall to the left to open another secret door. Head through and take the stairs up to the top, bringing you to the main room of the lord’s quarters.

Take a left, heading up the stairs and through the door at the end to finally reach the lord’s room. Head inside, and you’ll spot the lord and countess on the left side of the room in the bed. To the right of the bed will be the jewelry box with the ring.

The jewery box is in site for the Ahdarji's Heirloom side quest

Sneak up to the box and pick the lock on it to receive the ring. You can also steal the key to the box from the countess. You’ll want to be very careful in this room! Depending on your sneak skill, you’ll want to move very slowly. It is very easy to wake the count up.

Deliver the Ring to Ahdarji

Once you have the ring, exit the castle using the secret passage and return to Ahdarji. Speak with her about the ring, then choose the “Amusei tried to sell it back” option first, then the “Here is your ring” option next.

Report Back to S’krivva

With the ring back with its “rightful” owner, return to S’krivva to let her know how the job went. As a reward for doing a great job, you’ll be promoted to the rank of Prowler and the quest will be completed!
