How to Start the An Encounter with Carinda Quest
To begin the An Encounter with Carinda quest in Octopath Traveler 0, speak with the cloaked man near the save point in Donescu after completing the Bestower of Power: Ch. 1: The One That Lays Waste quest.
An Encounter with Carinda Walkthrough
Donescu is a nation ravaged by barbarians. Amidst the widespread devastation, a carefree and cheerful woman suddenly appears, as if to drive away the despair that envelops the region.
Obtain donescia
Next, travel east to Donescu Traverse. On the eastern side of this area, interact with the blue shining object on the east side next to Carinda.
Deliver the donescia to the apothecary
With the donescia in hand, return to Donescu and speak with the old man near the save point.
“Purchase” apothecary’s tools from Zeph
In need of some tools, travel to Clearbrook in the Riverlands Region. Once there, enter the house between the shops and the inn to find Zeph. Use the Purchase Path Action to acquire the Apothecary’s Tools for either 4500 leaves or 9000 leaves.
Deliver the tools to the apothecary
Now that you’ve found some tools, return to the old man in Donescu to hand them over.
Check on the relief mission from Riven
With more to do, travel to the center of East Clearbrook Traverse near the save point to discover the convoy under attack!

Speak to the apothecary
After rescuing the supplies, return to Donescu and speak with the old man. Once the cutscene ends, invite Carinda to join you!
Carinda is a merchant with a wide range of versatile abilities. She can learn a support skill that enhances endurance. For weapons, she uses a polearm and bow. In addition, she has the following battle skills:
- Penetrating Thrust – Unleash a polearm attack on a foe
- Recuperate – Grant self Phys Def Up and restore HP
