How to Start The Sage Beckons Quest
To begin The Sage Beckons quest in Octopath Traveler 0, interact with the gate on the Isle of Sages in the Coastlands Region after collecting all five Letter Fragments and receiving the Secret Invitation.
Where to Find the Letter Fragments
Letter Fragment – Character Creation
At the very beginning of the game, while you are setting up your character, make sure to select this Letter Fragment as your belonging.
Letter Fragment – Theatropolis
This Letter Fragment can be found on a bookshelf inside the library on the western side of Theatropolis.
Letter Fragment – Waterpool Caves
This Letter Fragment can be found southeast of the save point in a storage area.
Letter Fragment – Atlasdam
In Atlasdam, use the Entreat Path Action on the Cat of Graceful Bearing to receive this Letter Fragment.
Letter Fragment – Path to Herminia’s Manse
After defeating the Man-Eating Flora at the Path to Herminia’s Manse in the Woodlands Region, grab the shiny object from the ground.

The Sage Beckons Walkthrough
Head deep into the Isle of Sages
Once you have the Secret Invitation, head through the Isle of Sages to reach the northeastern corner where you’ll find Cait Scholar Isla.
After your conversation with her, she’ll become your companion and a resident of Wishvale!
Isla, the Cait Scholar, is a master of non-elemental magic. She uses the Tome as her weapon and knows the following battle skills:
- Double Slap – Unleash 2 tome attack on all foes
- Arcane Meteor – Unleash a non-elemental attack on all foes
