How to Start the Face the Frost Talus Quest

To begin the Face the Frost Talus side quest in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, speak with Gesane after subduing the divine beast.

He can be found guarding the entrance to the Rito Village. Ask how he’s doing, and the Rito will mention seeing a Frost Talus over at Coldsnap Hollow.

How to Complete the Face the Frost Talus Quest

Before heading out to face the Frost Talus, make sure to bring fire arrows with you!

Defeat the Frost Talus

To find the Frost Talus, you’ll need to head north of Rito Village to the Hebra Mountains. You’ll need to scale the mountain, then drop down near where the objective marker is to find it.

To damage the ice-rock monster, you’ll need to hit the ore vein on its back. You can do this with either arrows or by scaling the monster and attacking it with your weapon. If you go this route, hit it with a fire arrow to melt the ice. This will allow you to climb the monster without freezing.

Return to Gesane

Once the Frost Talus has been dealt with, return to Gesane at the entrance to the Rito Village. Let him know that the monster has been dealt with to complete the quest. You’ll receive 100 rupees as a reward.
