Travel to Praetor and head for the Placid Waters Wellnitarium in the southwestern corner. Once you arrive, hop into the grass lining the building and crouch so that you are hidden. Then head to the eastern side, where you’ll find a vent through a hole in the wall.

Follow it to reach the inside of the building, drop down, and take the stairs down to the elevator. Use it to travel to the Placid Waters Wellniatrium.

After taking the elevator down, head up the stairs on either side of the room and head through the door at the top. In the office, examine the Supplemental Pharmacology Details on the desk and take the item.

Exit the office and go back down the stairs. Follow the hallway north to have an experience akin to Willy Wonka, then head through the door at the end.

In the lobby, speak with Designated Subject Greeter Yachley. Exhaust his dialogue options to agree to be tested. Go to the window on the right and talk with the Intake Evaluation Automech using the intercom to begin the evaluation. Once you fail, head to the left side of the windows and interact with the tube to receive the Low-Privilege Priority Pass and Prisoner Clothing.

Head through the nearby door on the west side of the room to enter an elevator and take it to the common room, where you’ll find more happy gas. Speak with Abigail in the sitting area, ensuring you exhaust all her dialogue options. Do the same with Welyon Mealing in one of the outer rooms. This will begin the Escape From Placid Waters side quest.

We recommend completing the Escape From Placid Waters quest first before progressing the Mysteries of the Mental Modulators quest. If you get caught while in the facility, everyone will turn hostile, preventing you from speaking with Welyon to turn in the quest.

Next, head past the mess hall to the study room where a video is playing. Once it ends, speak with Refreshment Facilitator Tilden, then convince her to hand over her Mid-Privileged Priority Pass (you won’t need anything special to do this).

From this point on, make sure to sneak through the facility! There will be several guards near the elevator, on the other floors, and in the rooms on the upper level. They are easy enough to sneak by; keep a lookout for them.

Between the mess and study halls, you’ll find a locked door. Use the keycard to open it and head right over the rail. You’ll then want to go through the door in front of you. On the desk, you’ll find a Mental Refreshment Pharmacology Sample in the room where they hand out drugs. Grab it, then head back through the door.

Now, head to the west side of the room to find an elevator. Use it to head up to the Observational Oversight level. Exit the elevator and take a left. Follow it to the green room at the end, where Head Refersher Gould is.

Recruit the Head Refresher to Auntie’s Choice

If you want to convince Gould to leave the Protectoate in favor of Auntie’s Choice, you’ll need to interact with the Reprioritin Gas Disbursement Controls just before the green chamber. You’ll need Medical 4, Observation 11, or Engineering 7 to trigger the gas to fill the room. This will make Gould more susceptible to your silver tongue.

Enter the chamber and speak with Head Refersher Gould. He’ll quickly identify you as being an outside party and request that you debate with him. If you gassed the chamber, then this will be much easier, and you’ll be able to persuade him to leave the Protectorate.

Otherwise, the best you can do is appease him. He’ll allow you to stay and poke around. Failing the debate will result in him turning hostile and summoning a pair of guards. The following skills/backgrounds will make it easier to hold your own in the debate:

  • Speech 11
  • Professor Background
  • Brilliant Trait
  • Medical 7 and Science! 7

Once the debate is over and Gould is dealt with, enter the nearby door to his left. This will bring you into his office.

Interact with the mannequin to obtain a unique helmet, the Phrenometric Peak Abradement Cap. This will also cause the poster on the wall next to it to open, revealing a hidden compartment with the Lathe of Particularly Schematics. Make sure to grab it.

There is also a safe in the office that contains some bits. If you have Lockpick 7, you can pick the lock; otherwise, you’ll need to pickpocket the keycard off of Gould. Please note you can also pickpocket the Pitchball Card: Jack Krawczyk from him, too.

Before leaving the room, the last thing to snag is the Subject Admittance Log: Sovereign Henry Varick. It will be on a bookshelf to the right of the exit.

Now that the head refresher has been addressed, return to the elevator and proceed south down the hall to the other end. You’ll then want to take a right and enter the doorway at the end. This will bring you into the security room. A guard will be stationed in the back, monitoring the screens.

The first desk on the right in the security room contains the Supplemental Methodology Details, which you’ll want to pick up.

Sneak up behind the guard and grab the Full-Priviledge Priority Pass from the desk in front of him. You can grab it while crouched behind him, without him noticing. Tuck that away, as we’ll use it in a bit.

Return to the hallway and enter the other side rooms. Make sure to do the following:

  • Terminal (in the room with Yackly)
    • Unseal the way out
  • Head Refresher Lecture Audio Cartridge
    • On a desk in the room to the right of Yackly’s room

Once you’ve finished exploring the Observational Oversight level, return to the elevator and take it down to the Special Ministartions level using the Full-Priviledge Priority Pass. There will be one enemy there, sitting in a chair on the right, that you’ll need to deal with. After that, use the terminal to unseal the door. Head inside to meet Gustav Feld and his special guest. Exhaust all of his dialogue, then return to the elevator.

If you have the pickpocket perk, you can steal the Breath of the Vindicator Gold primer off of Gustav Feld.

Return to the ACS Undisputed Claim

Now that you’ve fully explored Placid Waters Wellnitarium and satisfied all of the objecitves Auntie has given you, it’s time to leave. Use the elevator to return to the Observational Oversight level, then proceed to the room where Yackly is located and use the door to exit the facility. You can also head to the kitchen on the Cognitive Easement level and head through the hole in the freezer if you helped Weylon.

Once outside, go back to the ship and travel to the ACS Undisputed Claim. Make your way back to Pendergrass and Ormsby to review the details you have uncovered.

For completing all of the objectives, you’ll be rewarded with XP, bits, an Explosive Autospray SMG, an Adreno Bubble Up! Ultra Premium, Sonic Emotion Disruptors, and an Extra Primer Port. The quest will also be completed.

Following the conversation with the two VPs, you’ll also get to have a 60-second call with Auntie Cleo. If you have the An Equitable Arrangement side quest, this will be your opportunity to convince Auntie to work with the Order (or not if that’s how you’re feeling).
