Final Death for Gravity Side Quest Guide

How to Start the Final Death for Gravity Side Quest

To begin the Final Death for Gravity side quest, you’ll need to progress the Perilous Journey to the Grove task to the point where you meet Jackson Plum at the Spire Grove. Upon interacting with him, this quest will start.

Alternatively, you can head to Sovereign’s Sweet Spire Grove and interact with Jackson Plum to trigger this quest without having the task.

To reach the grove, you have several options:

  1. The easiest one requires Engineering 3. On the northeast side of the grove, you’ll find a broken lift. With an Engineering 3 skill, you’ll be able to repair the lift, allowing you to ride it straight to the grove.
  2. Climb up the mountain using the ledges on either side of the lift to reach the top.
  3. Travel to the western part of Paradise Island near the Crabbing Tower. From there, you can head northeast through the hills to reach the grove.

Acquire the Plasma Thruster Boots

A Final Death for Gravity The Outer Worlds 2

To get your hands on the Plasma Thruster Boots, you’ll need to loot them from Jackson’s corpse. This will trigger a tutorial that explains how to do a double jump.

When we first tried to loot the boots off of Jackson, his inventory screen would disappear really fast before we could do so. To fix this, we saved and reloaded the game. This let us take the boots!

Find the Drive Overloader

This isn’t required for the quest, but if you head to the northeast part of the spire, you’ll find a small house in a field of crops. If you go inside, you’ll spot Ida’s Data Pad on the bed. It provides some details about how Auntie Cleo’s employees ended up in this predicament.

Now that you have the fancy boots, climb on top of the Auntie Cleo building. From there, you’ll find a platform you can reach using your double jump. Keep jumping to the different sections of the walkway until you reach the end, where the drive overloader is on a table. Make sure to pick it up.

Lower the Platform

With the drive overloader in hand, it’s time for you to lower the platform. To do that, climb up the scaffolding near the drive and continue jumping along the broken walkway. Eventually, you’ll end up on top of the platform.

You can find an Advanced Encryption Key on top of a crate on the southern part of the platform.

Advanced Encryption Key

On the platform, head inside and interact with the receptacle (Harvester Automech Control Unit) to see several options. You’ll be able to use the driver overloader to lower the harvester, or, if you have Engineering 4 or the Brilliant trait, you can regulate the drive overloader first to prevent it from burning out the system, keeping the harvester functional.

Speak with Othaham

Once the platform is back on the ground, speak with Othaham, who will be waiting nearby. If you were able to regulate the drive, you could let them know which will net you some extra bits.

This will complete the quest, rewarding you with some EXP, bits, Auntie’s Choice rep, and the Monocular Target-Finder helmet. It grants 10% weakspot damage and comes with the Range Scanner mod, which grants more weakspot damage, the further away from the target you are.
