How to Start Observing the Underworld
You will automatically begin the Observing the Underworld side mission after completing the Fulfilling a Great Ambition side mission.
Observing the Underworld Side Mission Walkthrough
Talk to Hiroko Sagisaka
Next, travel to Shinjuku: East Shopping District (Present Day) and enter Misono Detective Agency. Once inside, speak with Hiroko and choose the “View the picture of Hiroko in high school” option.
Investigate Shinjuku Park 8 Years Ago
To travel back in time, enter the In-Between Theater, then interact with the doors and select “Time Jump”. Next, select “Higashi-Shinjuku: Back Alley (8 Years Ago).
Once in the alley, head to the taxi and select “Nishi-Shinjuku, Shinjuku Park: Waterfall Plaza”. When you arrive, head to the center of the area and speak with the man wearing a beige sweater.
Look for Dr. Simmons in Subroad
After your conversation, you’ll be teleported to Shinjuku Underground Town: Subroad. Once there, head to the northern part of the area and approach the lady wearing the black suit.
After speaking with the lady, you will be teleported to Shinjuku: A Certain Back Alley. When you gain control, make your way to the parking lot with the taxi. Approach Dr. Simmons to engage in a fight against Piximon.

Afterwards, you’ll learn the truth behind his parents.
Talk to present-day Kinshiro
Return to the In-Between Theater and use the doors to travel to Higashi-Shinjuku: Back Alley (Present Day). Use the taxi to reach “Seibu-Shinjuku: Overbridge East”. When you arrive, head north to find Kinshiro and speak with him. After your conversation, the mission will end.
