Shellmon Overview (In-Game Profile)

A Digimon shaped like a hermit crab inhabiting the depths of the Net Ocean. Shellmon has a turtle-like appearance when inside its shell, but its body is actually soft like a mollusk. Its body gets bigger and bigger as it develops, and it switches dwellings each time until it’s the size of a small mountain.

Also, Shellmon has the custom of settling into anything it can push its whole body into. Its low intelligence and belligerent nature mean that anyone who encounters it needs to stay on guard. Its special move, Hydro Blaster, fires liquid at high pressure.

Shellmon Digivolution

Digivolution is the process that allows your Digimon to grow stronger and unlock new forms. Each Digivolution path has specific requirements, such as reaching a certain level, achieving a minimum stat threshold, or meeting personality and bond conditions.

Some Digimon also require special items or story progression to evolve. Choosing when and how to Digivolve is essential, since certain evolutions may branch into multiple options, giving you flexibility in shaping your partner’s role in battle.

De-Digivolution

In Digimon Story Time Stranger, de-digivolution allows you to return a Digimon to a previous form. Unlike standard digivolution, which requires stat thresholds and level milestones, de-digivolution has its own conditions. To de-digivolve a Digimon, one of the following requirements must be met:

  • Encounter requirement: The Target Digimon must have already been encountered at least once during your playthrough.
  • Personality requirement: The Target Digimon’s base Personality must match the current Digimon’s Personality.

Meeting either condition will unlock the option to de-digivolve, giving you more flexibility in reshaping your team and experimenting with different evolutionary paths.
