Welcome to NGB’s guide for the Bad Seed side mission in Borderlands 4. In this quest, you’ll team up with Lysett, an altruistic scientist determined to make a difference. Your task is to deliver her experimental seed to the nuke facility, irradiate it, and help create a food source capable of feeding the hungry across Kairos.

How to Start the Bad Seed Quest
To begin the Bad Seed side mission in Borderlands 4, speak with Lysett just northwest of the Mossmellow Retreat in Carcadia District.
How to Complete the Bad Seed Quest
Help an altruistic scientist make a positive impact. Take Lysett’s seed to the nuke facility and irradiate it. Together, you’ll feed the hungry of Kairos.
Take bioengineered seed
After accepting the quest, grab the seed from Lysett.
Reach facility entrance
To reach the facility, head north to The Groaning Core. Once there, push the button to attempt to open the maintenance door. Since it won’t budge, look to the left of the door to find a set of gears. Use your grapple to pull out the stuck piece of metal.
Make your way into facility
With the door now open, head on through and follow the path to reach a large room just past a vent and defeat the security. Next, you’ll need to hack the security console on the platform in the center of the room.
Enter maintenance shaft
Next, enter the shaft on the southwestern side of the room and keep heading until you reach the transistor capacitor. When you arrive, you’ll need to spin the transistor turbines until they’re full blast. Afterward, return to the security room and defeat the reinforcements.
Overcharge transistor
Enter the door the reinforcements came through and push the button on the console.
Enter core room
Exit the room and continue across the large room to the south to find the core room. Defeat the facility director and guards inside. Afterward, place the seed in the core.
Overcharge core
Push the button on the console behind the column to overcharge the core. You’ll then need to pick up the seed.
Leave facility
Leave the facility to complete the mission.
