How to Start the Sage Against the Machine Quest
To begin the Sage Against the Machine side mission in Borderlands 4, speak with Brody Sattva just north of the Sainted Cup in the Stoneblood Forest.
How to Complete the Sage Against the Machine Quest
Your inner child cries out for reconciliation with their generational trauma as the flower yearns to blossom. Soothe your soul and silence the spirit with the aid of… a Ripper life coach. I mean, this guy seems to have his shit together, surely he knows what he’s talking about.
Take mood rock
After accepting the quest, grab the Ego Prism from the table.
Find Path of Opportunities
Next, you’ll need to find the Path of Opportunities, which can be found northwest through the ravine. When you reach the road, follow it north to Crueltown.
Cultivate awareness of rippers (by killing them)
When you arrive, clear out the rippers from Crueltown.
Reach Stones of Balance
From Crueltown, head northwest through the stacked stones to reach the balance trial. The highest point will be on top of the rickety stone pillar.
To reach this point, you’ll need to stack crates wherever you see a green box.
Check in with mood rock
Place your rock on the stack underneath the “Balance” sign.
Reach Den of Acceptance
Before leaving, pick up your Ego Prism. When you are ready, head directly west to reach Acceptance. Head inside and either speak with your negative self or melee him. Next, you’ll need to kill Ricky and his friends.
Return to Brody
After clearing out the Splicers, continue west to find Brody at his stand. Once you arrive, place the mood rock then flip it when he requests. Afterward, loot the small box to the right of the stand.
A surprising turn of events will occur when Wayward Soul shows up and the quest will then complete.
