How to Start Koko’s Questline

To begin Koko’s questline in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, speak with Koko at the cooking pot outside the General Store in Kakariko’s Village during the day.

You’ll then begin the Koko’s Kitchen side quest!

How to Complete the Koko’s Kitchen Quest

Koko was panicking after forgetting to stock up on swift carrots for the hasty veggie cream soup. Find the ingredients for her!

Gather A Swift Carrot

Koko will need you to find a Swift Carrot! You can purchase a Swift Carrot for 16 rupees in the store next to Koko. Alternatively, speak with Steen in the carrot field in the southern part of the village, and he’ll give you one for free!

Return to Koko

After gathering the ingredients, return to Koko and she’ll whip you up a batch of Hasty Veggie Cream Soup. You’ll also learn the recipe for Hasty Veggie Cream Soup!

Hasty Veggie Cream Soup Recipe: Add Rock Salt and Fresh Milk to a bowl of Swift Carrots. Heat and stir to taste.

The quest will then complete!

How to Complete the Cooking with Koko Quest

After completing Koko’s Kitchen, wait for some time to pass then return to Koko. This time Koko heated up the pot in an attempt to make hot buttered apples, but the lack of goat butter has stymied her. She needs you to provide this ingredient!

Find Goat Butter

You can find Goat Butter in the shop next to Koko!

Return to Koko

After finding Goat Butter, return to Koko and hand it over. As a reward, she’ll make you Hot Buttered Apples and you’ll learn the recipe to make them!

Hot Buttered Apples Recipe: Coat apples evenly in Goat Butter and apply heat so it forms a nice, thick glaze.

How to Complete the Koko Cuisine Quest

After completing Cooking with Koko, wait for some time to pass then return to Koko. This time, Koko donned her apron and prepared to dish up a tough meat-stuffed pumpkin for her exhausted father, Dorian. She’ll need you to gather raw meat!

Find Raw Meat

To collect Raw Meat, find wild game like goats roaming around Hyrule. We found some goats in Sahasra Slope, west of the village. After taking them out, the animals will drop Raw Meat.

Return to Koko

After finding Raw Meat, return to Koko and she’ll whip up a batch for Tough Meat-Stuffed Pumpkin. You’ll learn the recipe and the quest will complete!

Tough Meat-Stuffed Pumpkin Recipe: Hollow out a fortified pumpkin and add any kind of meat. Bake until firm.

How to Complete the Koko’s Specialty Quest

After completing Koko Cuisine, wait for some time to pass then return to Koko. This time, she’ll need a missing ingredient from her mother’s special dessert.

Find Courser Bee Honey

Beehives can be found hanging from trees around Hyrule. We found one in the Midla Woods, which is west of Hateno Village.

Once you find a beehive, shoot it with an arrow, causing it to fall. Be warned that a swarm of bees will then pour out and attack you! Fight them off then return collect the Courser Bee Honey.

Return to Koko

After finding Courser Bee Honey, return to Koko, and she’ll whip up a batch for Energizing Honeyed Apple. You’ll learn the recipe and the quest will complete!

Energizing Honeyed Apple Recipe: Dip an apple in courser bee honey. Heat until ready to be slices and serve warm.
