In The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the Watch Out for the Flowers shrine quest is one of the more humorous (and slightly annoying) challenges. Found in the Hateno region, this quest involves navigating a maze of delicate flowers tended by the very passionate (and extremely overprotective) Magda. One wrong step could send her into a rage, so tread carefully!

How to Start the Watch Out for the Flowers Shrine Quest
To begin this quest, head west of Kakariko Village, toward Hylia River. When you reach the river, look for the Floret Sandbar in the middle of the river where it splits. There, you’ll find a woman named Magda tending to a large patch of flowers.

Walk towards the Hila Rao Shrine, located in the center of the flower field. Magda will then stop you and begin ranting about the flowers, which will start the Watch Out for the Flowers shrine quest.

Navigating the Flower Path
This shrine quest is all about not stepping on the flowers. Magda has planted a winding trail of bare ground that leads to the shrine. If you step even once on a flower, she’ll get increasingly upset. After three strikes, she’ll rage out and knock you down, forcing you to restart the walk to the shrine. Once you reach the shrine, the Watch Out for the Flowers shrine quest will be completed.
Navigation Tips:
- Walk slowly and stick closely to the worn dirt path.
- Use the camera to rotate and get a top-down view of the path to better plan your steps.
- Don’t rush! The path curves and loops tightly around flower patches.
Alternatively:
If you have high stamina or Revali’s Gale, you can try gliding from a nearby ledge or tree straight onto the shrine platform. If you go this route, speak with Magda after completing the shrine, and the shrine quest should start and be completed.
