How to Start The Tailor’s Story Questline
To begin The Tailor’s Story questline in Fantasy Life i, select the Tailor Life License in Eternia Village’s Guild Office.
Next, speak with Sue in the Tailor’s Guild on the west side of Eternia Village to become a Novice.
Tailor Life Challenges
Novice Challenges
Splendid Sewing! Bravo!
First, speak with Chantille on the southwestern side of the room to obtain four Straw Threads and the Woven Straw Fabric recipe. Next, craft the Woven Straw Fabric using the workbench in the center of the room. After you craft the fabric, speak with Chantille.
She’ll then task you with talking to Crochette at the market on the east side of the Capital of Mysteria.
When finished with your conversation, travel to Merina Ranch, which is west of Eternia Village, and speak with Shepherd Boy to get Soft Wool.
Next, travel to the Tailor’s Guild and speak with Crochette inside to get the Flowy Cape recipe and Woven Straw Fabric. You’ll now have everything you’ll need to craft the Flowy Cape. Interact with the workbench in the middle of the room to begin crafting it.
Once you’ve finished crafting the Flowy Cape, speak with Crochette to get 500 Dosh. The challenge will then complete and you’ll rank up to Fledgling status!

Fledgling Tailor Skills
For the Fledgling Tailor Skills life challenge, you’ll need to get an Excellent while crafting 20 times. As a reward, you’ll receive 200 Stars.
Gentle Like a Wild Flower
For the Gentle Like a Wild Flower life challenge, you’ll need to craft using 5 Dandelion Cottons. To craft five Dandelion Cottons, you’ll need the following materials:
- Dandelion Puff x15
- Purchase for 30 from the Material Shop in the Capital of Mysteria
As a reward, you’ll receive 100 Stars.
Sew a Hunter’s Bolero!
For the Sew a Hunter’s Bolero! life challenge, you’ll need to craft a Hunter’s Bolero. To craft this item, you’ll need the following materials:
- Dandelion Cotton x4
- To craft a Dandelion Cotton, you’ll need 3 Dandelion Puffs.
- Purchase for 80 from the Material Shop in Eternia Village
- Woven Straw Fabric x1
- To craft a Woven Straw Fabric, you’ll need 3 Straw Threads.
- Purchase for 80 from the Material Shop in Eternia Village
- Wool x1
- To craft a Wool, you’ll need 2 Sheep Fleece.

For the Thank You, Sheep life challenge, you’ll need to craft using Wool 5 times. To craft a Wool, you’ll need the following materials:
- Sheep Fleece x2
- Purchase for 50 from the Material Shop in the Capital of Mysteria
As a reward, you’ll receive 100 Stars.
The Fledgling tailor
For The Fledgling Tailor life challenge, you’ll need to craft without getting below Great 10 times. As a reward, you’ll receive 150 Stars.
Apprentice Challenges
Apprentice Tailor Skills
For this life challenge, you’ll need to get an Excellent while crafting 40 times. As a reward, you’ll receive 350 Stars.
Sew a Coastal Brigandine
For this life challenge, you’ll need to craft 1 Coastal Brigandine. To craft this item, you’ll need the following materials:
- Linen x4
- Animal Hide x1
- Snake Scales x1
To craft one Linen, you will need three Flax Thread. You can purchase the Flax Thread from the Material Shop in Lulab Forest on Faraway Island for 80 Dosh. Alternatively, you can find it throughout Lulab Forest.
Red Wolves in the Capital of Mysteria drop the Animal Hide. You can also purchase it from the Material Shop in the Capital of Mysteria for 50 Dosh.
For the Snake Scales, purchase it for 80 Dosh from the Material Shop at Terrasa Farm on Faraway Island. Alternatively, they are dropped from the Bloom Serpents in Lulab Forest on Faraway Island.
As a reward for crafting the Coastal Brigandine, you’ll receive 250 Stars.
Sew a Tropical Rug
For this life challenge, you’ll need to craft 1 Tropical Rug with Top or Better quality. To craft this item, you’ll need the following materials:
- Woven Straw Fabric x3
- Linen x2
To craft a Woven Straw Fabric, you’ll need three Straw Threads. You can purchase it for 30 Dosh from the Material Shop in the Capital of Mysteria or the General Goods store in Eternia Village.
To craft one Linen, you will need three Flax Thread. You can purchase the Flax Thread from the Material Shop in Lulab Forest on Faraway Island for 80 Dosh. Alternatively, you can find it throughout Lulab Forest.
