How to Start The Blacksmith’s Story Questline
To begin The Blacksmith’s Story questline in Fantasy Life i, select the Blacksmith Life License in Eternia Village’s Guild Office.
Next, speak with Hammerhead in the Blacksmith’s Guild and Shop in Eternia Village to become a Novice.
Blacksmith Life Challenges
Novice Challenges
Bing Bang Bash!
Next, travel northwest of Eternia Village and speak with Nickello near the Novice Miner’s Pit. He’ll give you three Mysteria Coppers. With the ore in hand, return to Hammerhead. He’ll give you the Bronze Ingot recipe and request that you make one.
After you’ve made a Bronze Ingot, speak with Hammerhead again. You’ll then be tasked with traveling to the Blacksmith’s House on the western side of the Capital of Mysteria.
Once inside the house, speak with Ferris to get the Trainee’s Bronze Sword recipe.
Next, return to Hammerhead in Eternia Village. He’ll give you a Feathweight Ingot. Now, you’ll need to craft a Trainee’s Bronze Sword using the Featherweight Ingot. After crafting the sword, speak with Hammerhead, and he’ll give you 500 Dosh.

Craft a Leather Cap
For the Craft a Leather Cap life challenge, you’ll need to craft a Leather Cap. To craft this recipe, you’ll need the following materials:
- Bronze Ingot x2
- Craft a Bronze Ingot using 3 Mysteria Coppers
- Purchase for 130 Dosh from the Material Shop in the Blacksmith’s Guild in Eternia Village
- Animal Hide x1
- Purchase for 50 Dosh from the Material Shop in the Capital of Mysteria
- Dropped from Red Wolves, which can be found west of the Capital of Mysteria at night
As a reward, you’ll receive 100 Stars.
Craft a Leather Jerkin
For the Craft a Leather Jerkin life challenge, you’ll need to craft a Leather Jerkin. To craft this recipe, you’ll need the following materials:
- Bronze Ingot x3
- As a Blacksmith, craft a Bronze Ingot using 3 Mysteria Coppers
- Purchase for 130 Dosh from the Material Shop in the Blacksmith’s Guild in Eternia Village
- Animal Hide x1
- Purchase for 50 Dosh from the Material Shop in the Capital of Mysteria
- Dropped from Red Wolves, which can be found west of the Capital of Mysteria at night
- Dandelion Cotton x1
- Purchase for 80 Dosh from the General Goods store in Eternia Village
- As a Tailor, craft a Dandelion Cotton using 3 Dandelion Puffs
As a reward, you’ll receive 100 Stars.

For the Craft Leather Boots life challenge, you’ll need to craft Leather Boots. To craft this recipe, you’ll need the following materials:

For the Fledgling Blacksmith Skills life challenge, you’ll need to get an Excellent while crafting 20 times. As a reward, you’ll receive 200 Stars.
The Bronze Craftsman
For The Bronze Craftsman life challenge, you’ll need to craft using a Bronze Ingot 20 times. To craft a Bronze Ingot, you’ll need the following materials:
- Mysteria Copper x3
As a reward, you’ll receive 100 Stars.
The Fledgling Blacksmith
For The Fledgling Blacksmith life challenge, you’ll need to craft without getting below Great 10 times. As a reward, you’ll receive 150 Stars.
Apprentice Challenges
Apprentice Blacksmith Skills
For this life challenge, you’ll need to get an Excellent while crafting 40 times. As a reward, you’ll receive 350 Stars.
Craft an Iron Cuirass
For this life challenge, you’ll need to craft 1 Iron Cuirass. To craft this item, you’ll need the following materials:
- Iron Ingot x3
- Bronze Ingot x2
- Cashmere x1
To craft an iron Ingot, you will need to use 3 Faraway Irons. To craft a Bronze Ingot, you will need 3 Mysteria Copper.
You can purchase the Cashmere for 130 Dosh from the Material Shop at Terrasa Farm on Faraway Island. Alternatively, you can craft Cashmere as a Tailor using 2 Goat Fleece. Goat Fleece is dropped from Cashmere, which can be found on the western side of Lulab Forest on Faraway Island.
As a reward for crafting the Iron Cuirass, you’ll receive 250 Stars.
Craft an Iron Helm
For this life challenge, you’ll need to craft 1 Iron Helmet. To craft this item, you’ll need the following materials:
- Iron Ingot x3
- Bronze Ingot x1
To craft an iron Ingot, you will need to use 3 Faraway Irons. To craft a Bronze Ingot, you will need 3 Mysteria Copper. As a reward for crafting the Iron Helmet, you’ll receive 250 Stars.
Craft Iron Boots
For this life challenge, you’ll need to craft 1 Iron Boots. To craft this item, you’ll need the following materials:
- Iron Ingot x3
- Bronze Ingot x1
- Cashmere x1
To craft an iron Ingot, you will need to use 3 Faraway Irons. To craft a Bronze Ingot, you will need 3 Mysteria Copper.
You can purchase the Cashmere for 130 Dosh from the Material Shop at Terrasa Farm on Faraway Island. Alternatively, you can craft Cashmere as a Tailor using 2 Goat Fleece. Goat Fleece is dropped from Cashmere, which can be found on the western side of Lulab Forest on Faraway Island.
As a reward for crafting the Iron Boots, you’ll receive 250 Stars.
Craft Iron Gauntlets
For this life challenge, you’ll need to craft 1 Iron Gauntlets. To craft this item, you’ll need the following materials:
- Iron Ingot x3
- Bronze Ingot x1
To craft an iron Ingot, you will need to use 3 Faraway Irons. To craft a Bronze Ingot, you will need 3 Mysteria Copper. As a reward for crafting the Iron Gauntlets, you’ll receive 250 Stars.
Craft Iron Greaves
For this life challenge, you’ll need to craft 1 Iron Greaves. To craft this item, you’ll need the following materials:
- Iron Ingot x3
- Bronze Ingot x2
- Cashmere x1
To craft an iron Ingot, you will need to use 3 Faraway Irons. To craft a Bronze Ingot, you will need 3 Mysteria Copper.
You can purchase the Cashmere for 130 Dosh from the Material Shop at Terrasa Farm on Faraway Island. Alternatively, you can craft Cashmere as a Tailor using 2 Goat Fleece. Goat Fleece is dropped from Cashmere, which can be found on the western side of Lulab Forest on Faraway Island.
As a reward for crafting the Iron Greaves, you’ll receive 250 Stars.
Iron Hammer Blacksmith
For this life challenge, you’ll need to craft 1 Iron Hammer with Good or Better quality. To craft this item, you’ll need the following materials:
- Iron Ingot x3
To craft an iron Ingot, you will need to use 3 Faraway Irons. As a reward for crafting the Iron Hammer, you’ll receive 400 Stars.
The Apprentice Blacksmith
For this life challenge, you’ll need to craft 20 times. As a reward, you’ll receive 350 Stars.
The Serpentine Craftsman
For this life challenge, you’ll need to craft using 5 Snake Scales. The Snakeskin Helm, Mail, Leggings, Boots, and Gloves all require Snake Scales.
You can purchase the Snake Scales for 80 from the Material Shop at Terrasa Farm on Faraway Island. Alternatively, Snake Scales are dropped from Bloom Serpents in Lulab Forest on Faraway Island.
To make these recipes, you’ll also need Iron Ingots and Linen. For the Iron Ingots, you’ll need to use 3 Faraway Irons. The Linen will require 3 Flax Threads. You can purchase the Flax Threads for 80 Dosh from the Material Shop in Lulab Forest on Faraway Island.
As a reward, you’ll receive 250 Stars.
Adept Challenges
Adept Blacksmith Skills
For this life challenge, you’ll need to get an Excellent 60 times while blacksmithing. As a reward, you will receive 400 Stars.
Craft a Rugged Cap
For this life challenge, you’ll need to craft 1 Rugged Cap. To craft this item, you’ll need the following materials:
- Silver Ingot x3
- Beast Hide x2
- Animal Claws x1
As a reward for crafting the Rugged Cap, you will receive 350 Stars.
Craft a Rugged Jerkin
For this life challenge, you’ll need to craft 1 Rugged Jerkin. To craft this item, you’ll need the following materials:
- Silver Ingot x4
- Beast Hide x2
- Hard Claws x1
- Sunny Cotton x1
As a reward for crafting the Rugged Jerkin, you will receive 350 Stars.
Craft Rugged Boots
For this life challenge, you’ll need to craft 1 Rugged Boots. To craft this item, you’ll need the following materials:
- Silver Ingot x3
- Beast Hide x2
- Animal Claws x1
- Sunny Cotton x1
As a reward for crafting the Rugged Boots, you will receive 350 Stars.
Craft Rugged Gauntlets
For this life challenge, you’ll need to craft 1 Rugged Gauntlets. To craft this item, you’ll need the following materials:
- Silver Ingot x3
- Beast Hide x2
- Animal Claws x1
As a reward for crafting the Rugged Gauntlets, you will receive 350 Stars.

For this life challenge, you’ll need to craft 1 Rugged Leggings. To craft this item, you’ll need the following materials:

- Beast Hide x2
- Hard Claws x1
- Sunny Cotton x1
As a reward for crafting the Rugged Leggings, you will receive 350 Stars.
Reputable Blacksmith
For this life challenge, you’ll need to craft an item with Great or Better quality. As a reward, you will receive 700 Stars.
Silver Hammer Blacksmith
For this life challenge, you’ll need to craft 1 Silver Hammer with Good or Better. To craft this item, you’ll need the following materials:
- Silver Ingot x3
As a reward for crafting the Silver Hammer, you will receive 450 Stars.
The Adept Blacksmith
For this life challenge, you’ll need to craft 30 times. As a reward, you will receive 400 Stars.
The Merfolk Craftsman
For this life challenge, you’ll need to craft using Fish Scales 5 times. The Merfok Helm, Mail, Leggings, Gloves, and Boots all require Fish Scales. To craft these, you will also need a mixture of the following materials:
- Silver Ingot
- Fish Scales
- Durable Shell
- Little Shell
- Steel Shell
- Sunny Cotton
As a reward for crafting using Fish Scales 5 times, you will receive 350 Stars.
