Welcome to NGB and our Fantasy Life i walkthrough for The Woodcutter’s Story questline! This guide will cover everything you need to know to easily complete this quest, including how to start the mission and the steps you will need to take to finish it.

How to Start The Woodcutter’s Story Questline
To begin The Woodcutter’s Story questline in Fantasy Life i, select the Woodcutter Life License in Eternia Village’s Guild Office.
Next, speak with Woodcutter Master Leela in the Woodcutter’s Guild, which is on the western side of Eternia Village, to become a Novice.

Novice Challenges
Song for the Forest Lady
Exit the Woodcutter’s Guild and speak with Chopin, who’s a choppin’ to learn the basics of woodcutting.
Next, you’ll be tasked with gathering three Oak Logs. Head down the stairs to the right of Chopin to find some nice oak trees. After you’ve collected the wood from chopping down the trees, return to Chopin.
Next, head into the General Goods store on the east side of Eternia Village. Speak with the Material Shop guy behind the counter to receive 200 Dosh.
Once you’re done speaking with him, report back to Leela. She’ll tell you where she believes Chopin went. Follow her hint to the Capital of Mysteria. When you arrive, head straight down the path towards the castle. As you approach the fountain, a cutscene will trigger.
Afterward, return to Eternia Village and go to the eastern beach.
At the tree another cutscene will trigger and you’ll learn about Tree Sweet Spots. Next, you’ll need to cut down the Powerful Palm Tree. Find its sweet spot then chop away.
Now that you have the log, speak with Jay outside the General Goods store to receive 500 Dosh. The quest will then end!
Fledgling Challenges
Search for Palm Trees
For the Search for Palm Trees life challenge, you’ll need to obtain 40 Palm Logs by woodcutting. You can get the Palm Logs from chopping Palm Trees and Palm Fruit Trees near the beaches of Eternia Village and the Capital of Mysteria. As a reward, you’ll receive 100 Stars.
Search for Oak Trees
For the Search for Oak Trees life challenge, you will need to obtain 40 Oak Logs by woodcutting. You can get Oak Logs from chopping Oak Trees around Eternia Village and the Capital of Mysteria. As a reward, you’ll receive 100 Stars.
Sweet Spot Search
For the Sweet Spot Search life challenge, you’ll need to use a skill while woodcutting 20 times. Open the Woodcutter Skill Board and purchase the Sweet Spot Search perk for five skill points. As a reward, you’ll receive 50 Stars.
The Country Woodcutter
For The Country Woodcutter life challenge, you’ll need to get an Excellent while woodcutting on an Oak Tree 5 times. For an increased chance of getting an Excellent when chopping trees, unlock the Charged Chop I skill on the Woodcutter Skill Board. Use this skill for the final hit before chopping the tree down. As a reward, you’ll receive 100 Stars.
The Oak Tree’s Story
For The Oak Tree’s Story life challenge, you’ll need to obtain 5 Elder Oak Logs by woodcutting. The Elder Oak Logs are rare drops from Oak Trees. You’ll have a higher chance of obtaining one if you get an Excellent. As a reward, you’ll receive 200 Stars.
The Seaside Woodcutter
For The Seaside Woodcutter life challenge, you’ll need to get an Excellent while woodcutting on a Palm Tree 5 times. For an increased chance of getting an Excellent when chopping trees, unlock the Charged Chop I skill on the Woodcutter Skill Board. Use this skill for the final hit before chopping the tree down. As a reward, you’ll receive 100 Stars.
Wise Old Oak Tree
For the Wise Old Oak Tree life challenge, you’ll need to get an Excellent while woodcutting on a Great Oak Tree 2 times. For an increased chance of getting an Excellent when chopping trees, unlock the Charged Chop I skill on the Woodcutter Skill Board. Use this skill for the final hit before chopping the tree down. You can find a Great Oak Tree just north of the pond at the top of a waterfall west of the Capital of Mysteria.
As a reward, you’ll receive 100 Stars.
Wise Old Palm Tree
For the Wise Old Palm Tree life challenge, you’ll need to get an Excellent while woodcutting on a Great Palm Tree 2 times. For an increased chance of getting an Excellent when chopping trees, unlock the Charged Chop I skill on the Woodcutter Skill Board. Use this skill for the final hit before chopping the tree down. You can find a Great Palm Tree southwest of the Capital of Mysteria.
As a reward, you’ll receive 200 Stars.
Apprentice Challenges
A Woodcutter’s Inner Strength
For this life challenge, you’ll need to use Charged Chop I 20 times. As a reward, you’ll receive 150 Stars.
Angel of Fire
For this life challenge, you’ll need to get an Excellent on Fire Angeltrees 1 time. You can find a Fire Angeltree northwest of the Capital of Mysteria.
It is between the Warren Willow Hollow and Quetzal Nest. As a reward, you’ll receive 500 Stars.
Search for Cherry Trees
For this life challenge, you’ll need to obtain 20 Cherry Logs by woodcutting. You can find Cherry Trees at Terrasa Farm and on the northwestern side of the Lulab Forest on Faraway Island. As a reward, you’ll receive 250 Stars.
Search for Pine Trees
For this life challenge, you’ll need to obtain 40 Pine Logs by woodcutting. You can find Pine Trees throughout the Lulab Forest. As a reward, you’ll receive 250 Stars.
The Cherry Tree’s Story
For this life challenge, you’ll need to obtain 5 Elder Cherry Logs by woodcutting. Elder Cherry Logs are rare drops from Cherry Trees, which you can find at Terrasa Farm and on the northwestern side of the Lulab Forest on Faraway Island. If you get an Excellent while chopping down the tree you will have a higher chance of receive an Elder Cherry Log! As a reward, you’ll receive 250 Stars.
The Forest Woodcutter
For this life challenge, you’ll need to get an Excellent on Pine Trees 5 times. You can find Pine Trees throughout the Lulab Forest. As a reward, you’ll receive 250 Stars.
The Pine Tree’s Story
For this life challenge, you’ll need to obtain 5 Elder Pine Logs by woodcutting. You can get these logs from Pine Trees. If you get an Excellent, your chance of receiving one will increase! As a reward, you’ll receive 350 Stars.
The Spring Woodcutter
For this life challenge, you’ll need to get an Excellent on Cherry Trees 5 times. You can find Cherry Trees at Terrasa Farm and on the northwestern side of Lulab Forest on Faraway Island. As a reward, you’ll receive 250 Stars.
Wise Old Cherry Tree
For this life challenge, you’ll need to get an Excellent on Great Cherry Trees 2 times. As a reward, you’ll receive 350 Stars.
Adept Challenges
Angel of Wind
For this life challenge, you’ll need to get an Excellent 1 time while woodcutting a Wind Angeltree. As a reward, you’ll receive 700 Stars.
Cherry Tree Master
For this life challenge, you’ll need to obtain 40 Cherry Logs. You can find Cherry Trees at Terrasa Farm and on the northwestern side of Lulab Forest on Faraway Island. As a reward, you’ll receive 300 Stars.
Facing the Hermit
For this life challenge, you’ll need to obtain 1 Cherry Branch. As a reward, you’ll receive 500 Stars.
Search for Sugar Trees
For this life challenge, you’ll need to obtain 40 Sugar Logs. Sugar Logs can be harvested from Sugar Trees around Piccas Resort and throughout the Tropica Isles. As a reward, you’ll receive 300 Stars.
Secret of the Sugar Nut
For this life challenge, you’ll need to obtain 10 Sugar Nuts. Sugar Nuts can be harvested from Sugar Trees around Piccas Resort and throughout the Tropica Isles. Chop them down to get the nuts! As a reward, you’ll receive 300 Stars.
Soul’s Awakening
For this life challenge, you’ll need to use the Godly Swing skill 20 times. As a reward, you’ll receive 250 Stars.
The Hermit’s Tears
For this life challenge, you’ll need to obtain 1 Cherry Nectar. As a reward, you’ll receive 500 Stars.
The Resort Woodcutter
For this life challenge, you’ll need to get an Excellent 5 times while woodcutting Sugar Trees. Sugar Trees can be found around Piccas Resort and throughout the Tropica Isles. As a reward, you’ll receive 300 Stars.
The Sugar Tree’s Story
For this life challenge, you’ll need to obtain 5 Elder Sugar Logs. You can get Elder Sugar Logs from chopping down Sugar Trees. If you get an Excellent, your chance of receiving one will increase! As a reward, you’ll receive 450 Stars.
Wise Old Sugar Tree
For this life challenge, you’ll need to get an Excellent 2 times while woodcutting Great Sugar Trees. You can find a Great Sugar Tree to the northwest and northeast of Piccas Resort. They will be in the grass along the beach. As a reward, you’ll receive 450 Stars.
