How to Start the Two Sides of the Coin Quest

The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion Remastered Two Sides of the Coin

To begin the Two Sides of the Coin quest in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, speak with Hafid Hollowleg in Bruma’s Jerall View Inn about Jorundr.

Two Sides of the Coin Walkthrough

Arnora Auria of Bruma is looking for some help recovering some money that was stolen from her. Make your way to her house and see if you can help!

Speak with Arnora

On the southern side of Bruma, enter Arnora’s house and speak with her about Jorundr. To learn the details of what’s happening, you’ll need to persuade Arnora to tell you by raising her disposition to 65.

You can do this by selecting the options she likes when that portion is filled with the most bars and selecting the ones she dislikes when they are the smallest. Your score will carry over each game, so keep going until her disposition hits 65.

To know which options she likes or dislikes, select the option that has one bar. Once you click it, the one bar will rotate to the right. Again, select the one bar. Keep doing this until you’ve selected all the options using the one bar. The second time you start, the bars will be lit up green, yellow, brown, or red. She loves the green, likes the yellow, dislikes the brown and hates the red.

Alternatively, you can also pay gold to increase her disposition.

Once you’ve persuaded her, ask her about the stolen gold.

Speak with Jorundr

Enter Bruma Castle, then head to the dungeon on the right side. Once in the dungeon, make your way downstairs and speak with the Bruma Jailor about visiting a prisoner. Follow him to the cells and speak with Jorundr on the left. No matter how much you try and persuade him, he won’t tell you anything, so save your efforts and just speak with him.

Report to Arnora

Since you can get nothing out of him, return to Arnora and speak with her of Jorundr. She’ll suggest that you get yourself arrested.

Get Arrested!

To have the smallest bounty possible, steal something small in plain sight, and make sure someone sees you. The Bruma Guard will then be summoned to arrest you! Select the “Go to Jail” option.

Extract the Info from Jorundr

Once inside the cell, speak with Jorundr and ask him about the stolen gold. He’ll tell you a different version of the events that led to his being imprisoned. Sleep when you’re ready to finish serving your time.

Choosing Sides

Return to Arnora and speak with her. You’ll then need to decide who you want to side with.

If you choose to kill Arnora, murdering her will have a chance of catching the attention of the Dark Brotherhood if you haven’t done anything with them yet.

Arnora’s Way

She’ll give you the key to the chest by her bed. Head downstairs and loot the chest behind the bed to find Arnora’s True Amulet.

With the amulet in hand, return to the dungeon and speak with the Bruma Jailor. Ask him to visit the prisoner, then speak with Jorundr, who will tell you the location of the gold.

Jorundr's Loot

Exit town via the northern gate, then follow the objective to find Tyrellius Logellus standing next to a chest. As you approach him, you’ll learn that he killed Arnora and plans to do the same to you! Kill him, then loot the gold (and him!). He’ll have a bunch of chainmail armor and 4 gold.

All items in the chest

After looting the stash, return to Arnora’s House to find her dead, then leave. The Two Sides of the Coin quest will then end.

Jorundr’s Way

There are two ways you can kill Arnora. The first option is to enter Arnora’s House, then strike her down without speaking with her. Alternatively, speak with her, then choose “Jorundr’s Way”. Either way, you’ll need to take her out fast so she can’t scream for the guards.

After she has been disposed of, loot her body. Head downstairs, then open the chest behind her bed to find Arnora’s True Amulet.

Arnora's Chest

Return to the dungeon and ask the Bruma Jailor to speak with the prisoner. After speaking with Jorundr, who will tell you the location of the gold, exit town via the northern gate and follow the objective to find Jorundr’s Loot.

Jorundr's Loot

Make sure to grab all the goodies inside!

All items in the chest

After finding the chest, the quest will end.
