In this walkthrough, we’ll show you where to find the wandering Samurai Daishos within the castle grounds, how to locate the keys needed to unlock secured doors, and the exact spot of the legendary chest hidden within the castle.

Katano Castle Guide
Katano Castle is one of the enemy strongholds that can be found in the Izumi Settus region of Assassin’s Creed Shadows. To loot the legendary chest in the castle, you’ll first need to defeat the two Samurai Daishos that have taken up residence in the castle. Additionally, there is a key you’ll want to collect that will allow you to access some additional resources.
Kura Key
You can find the Katano Castle Kura Key on a small table in a building on the northeast quadrant of the Katano Castle. You’ll just need to walk in and loot it off the table.
It can open some locked doors around the castle and contains resources your scouts can take back to the base. There will also be a couple of smaller chests that you can loot for additional weapons or valuables.
Samurai Daisho Locations
The castle is home to two Samurai Daisho, whom you must defeat to open the legendary chest. The first can be found patrolling the area near where you found the key in the above section.
You’ll come across the second Daisho near the castle’s center, in one of the southern quadrants.
Legendary Chest
To locate the legendary chest, you’ll want to enter the tallest building in the southwestern quadrant of the castle. The chest will be inside on one of the upper floors. There will be several guards standing between it and you.
Once you reach the chest, you’ll be rewarded with the legendary light armor, Tools Master Gear, and the Kunai Throw on Assassinate engraving. The armor’s effect is the same as the engraving.
When you assassinate an enemy, it will trigger Naoe to throw a kunai at a nearby enemy immediately after.
